Sergeant Catherine Cawood is a no-nonsense police officer in rural Yorkshire, who has just learnt that Tommy Lee Royce, the man responsible for her daughter's suicide (he raped her and she ended up having a child). is being released from prison after doing time for drugs offences. While she is dealing with that, an accountant hires a group of local crooks, including Tommy, to kidnap his boss' daughter so he can get the money to send his daughter to a PublicSchool. Unfortunately for all concerned, including Cawood, things spiral rapidly out of control.
Hard to watch, but critically acclaimed, this may well get a Bafta or two next year.
