''Count Arthur Strong'' is a television adaptation of Steve Delaney's long-running character, an ageing, perpetually unemployed variety act. It ran for three series, between 2013 and 2017, and exists in a separate continuity from ''Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show!'' and the stage shows. It was created and written by Creator/SteveDelaney and Creator/GrahamLinehan and directed by the latter.

Count Arthur Strong is a music hall performer who's never had much success. He spends his days hanging out at his local cafe with his friends and remembering bygone success that didn't actually happen -- and getting on the owner's nerves in the process. One day he's approached by Michael Baker, who's writing a book about his father, who used to be Arthur's double-act partner. Sensing an opportunity to spread word about his act and attract new employment, Arthur pulls Michael into all sorts of misadventures with the promise of useful anecdotes.

* FightBellHijinks: Early on in the episode, Arthur mentions how [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass he used to be a boxer in his youth]], but suffered from a case of CripplingOverspecialization, in that he had to defeat his opponent in a OneHitKO the moment the bell rang, otherwise he'd lose. At the same time, Bulent, the irascible cafe owner, mentions that he's thinking of getting a bell installed so he can keep the attention of his customers and staff. [[ChekhovsGag Both of these become important later on]], when Arthur ends up [[ItMakesSenseInContext running for parliament to get rid of imaginary roadworks noise]]. The leader of the opposition comes into Bulent's cafe [[PhotoOpWithTheDog for a photo shoot with Arthur]], then [[TemptingFate suggests taking a photo where they look like they're both squaring off for a bout]]. As soon as both men take up their poses, Bulent shows off his new bell to the customers by ringing it. * EmbarrassingHospitalGown: In "Doctor Two", Michael is in a hospital, wearing a gown, and about to be anesthetized so the doctors can find out whether he got rabies from having his [[{{Fingore}} hand bitten]] by a dog earlier that day. Initially, he starts to relax under the anesthetic, only to have an OhCrap reaction upon seeing that one of his doctors is actually [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Arthur]] wearing a white lab coat, having somehow [[BavarianFireDrill tricked the hospital staff into thinking he's one of them]] (despite Michael earlier stating that Arthur's such a bad actor, he'd never be able to do this). Michael, who has become increasingly paranoid that Arthur is a HarbingerOfImpendingDoom, starts screaming unintelligibly that the man in glasses is not a doctor, and stagger-lurches off his bed and tries wrestling Arthur out of the room, at which point Arthur becomes just as horrified when his hands end up behind Michael and he realizes "[[LargeHam HELP ME! HE'S NOT WEARING ANY UNDERPANTS!]]" By the end of the episode, Arthur mutters that [[BrainBleach he can't stop thinking about Michael's bottom now]] (just like he [[BrickJoke also couldn't stop thinking]] about [[BareBottomedMonkey monkeys' bottoms]] earlier throughout the episode).
