News of the remake was initially met with a strong [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks negative reaction]], as most American remakes of British works end up being relatively poor. However, the show proved to be very successful, being Syfy's highest-rated scripted drama for multiple seasons in a row, and is well-regarded by Toby Whithouse himself. In the summer of 2013, Being Human made it full circle around the Atlantic, with the US version premiering in Britain on the UKTV-owned channel Watch.

* BoyMeetsGhoulBoyMeetsGhoul: Sally is a beautiful young woman who's [[CuteGhostGirl also a ghost]]. More than a few mortal men are into her. She's unable to interact with them physically though until she [[DemonicPossession possesses the body of a living woman]], having sex that way. This is bad actually since she [[BedTrick doesn't tell anyone]], but the show [[DoubleStandardRapeSciFi doesn't seem to realize this]].

Added DiffLines:

* AdaptationDrift: The first season was largely a close adaptation of [[Series/BeingHumanUK the original UK series]]' first season, with similar story and character arcs and progressions of events -- the US series premiere in particular had a near-identical synopsis and some ''shot-for-shot'' scene recreations from the UK series' premiere. Season 2 however had almost nothing in common story-wise with the UK show's second season beyond picking up the first season's UK-paralleling plot threads, and Season 3 finally firmly established the US series as a narratively completely-separate show from the UK series.

* WorkingClassWerewolves: Josh was in med school and headed for a bright future until he was infected with lycanthropy, compelling him to drop out and live on the fringes of society. At the start of the series, he is working in a diner until Aiden gets him a job as a hospital orderly. Inverted with the [=McLean=] family of werewolves in the second and third seasons, who are an old-money family with seemingly bottomless bank accounts.
