The year is 2004. {{Creator/Pixar}}'s multi-movie deal with {{Creator/Disney}} had just ended, leaving their properties in the hands of the latter. With Pixar leaving to produce their own movies, Disney decided to create sequels to some of their properties like ''Franchise/ToyStory'', ''WesternAnimation/MonstersInc'' and ''WesternAnimation/FindingNemo''.

''Toy Story'''s planned sequel, ''Toy Story 3'', would have been developed by a new studio created by Disney for DirectToVideo sequels called Circle 7, but it was cancelled in 2006 when Disney bought Pixar outright for 7.2 billion dollars. The plot is as follows: when Buzz starts malfunctioning, Andy's toys forcibly ship him off to Taiwan (where he was created) in the hopes of getting him repaired. However, when Woody realizes Buzz Lightyear units all around the world are being recalled, he and his rescue team (consisting of Mr. Potato Head, Hamm, Slinky, Rex, Jessie and Bullseye) set off on a journey to the factory to save their Buzz before he's replaced.

Since Pixar was confirmed to have never read the script, this is unneeded

More information on this sequel, including an early script, can be found [[https://lostmediawiki.com/Disney_Circle_Seven_Animation_(partially_lost_production_material_of_cancelled_Pixar_sequels;_2004-2006) here]]. An actual ''WesternAnimation/ToyStory3'' would be released in 2010, with the Circle 7 script being completely and deliberately ignored by Pixar (although some of the concepts, such as the toys accidentally ending up at a daycare and Buzz being factory reset were reworked for the actual ''Toy Story 3'').

!!The ''Toy Story 3'' script by Circle 7 provides examples of:

* AccidentalMarriage:
** Woody and Jessie get forcibly married by the toddlers at the daycare, much to their dismay. They decide to [[LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain pretend it never happened]].
** A piece of concept art shows Mr. Potato Head and Hamm getting married while looking noticeably uncomfortable, implying they were intended to get married instead of Woody and Jessie at one point in production.
* AnArmAndALeg:
** A RunningGag throughout the script is Buzz's malfunctioning karate chop action causing his hand to repeatedly detach from his wrist.
** Buzz loses one of his legs to the toy crusher, but the other toys manage to reattach a new one.
* BigBad: Daxx Blastar, a {{Franchise/Transformers}}-esque toy who wants to replace Buzz Lightyear by any means necessary.
* BigDamnHeroes: Woody and the gang arrive just in time to stop Buzz, Rosey and Jade from being crushed in the recycling plant.
* TheBigDamnKiss: Jade and Buzz share one (specifically noted as Buzz's first on-screen kiss) before the latter heads off to reunite with Andy.
* TheCameo: Al from ''WesternAnimation/ToyStory2'' makes a brief appearance at the unveiling party for Daxx Blastar.
* CallBack: At the end of the story, Daxx is forcibly mailed to Sid's house from the first movie.
* ChekhovsSkill: Rex's skill at playing ''TabletopGame/{{Operation}}'' comes in handy when the toys need him to take out Buzz's malfunctioning chip and put in a new one.
* ContinuitySnarl: Buzz still has his wrist communicator sticker, despite peeling it off during his HeroicBSOD in the first movie. It's possible the toys put on a new sticker while reattaching his leg, but the script isn't particularly clear about it.
* CoolOldGuy: Old Man Kagoy. Not only does he know toys are alive, the moment he learns recalled toys are getting crushed and replaced, he instantly puts a stop to it and promises all recalled toys will get a chance to be played with.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Jade was recalled before she ever got a chance to be played with. It only got worse for her when, unlike all the other Jades who got fixed and eventually sent to loving homes, she was chosen to be the archived model in the recall room.
* DisneyDeath: Buzz is thought to be killed when one of his legs is crushed by the toy crusher. He turns out to be alive, but badly injured.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: After spending most of the movie as defects, all of the recalled toys (including Jade and Rosey) end up repaired and given to children around the world in the credits sequence.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even Al, who had no problems stealing toys not for sale in ''2'', is shocked to realise the factory's been destroying children's toys and then replacing them.
* FailedASpotCheck: Woody somehow not only fails to notice the giant Buzz Lightyear head on the factory Buzz is inside, but he goes in the ''complete opposite direction'' while trying to find it.
* HandsGoDown: When Woody and his companions arrive at the area where the recalled Buzzes are stored, Mr. Potato Head calls out for Buzz, only to be met by 50,000 Buzzes responding. Woody then asks for Andy's Buzz, and only a thousand Buzzes answer back. Hamm then specifies Andy Davis's Buzz, and merely a few Buzzes answer. Finally...
-->''(Jessie steps up and puts an end to it.)''\\
'''Jessie:''' ANDY DAVIS, WHO HAS A SISTER NAMED MOLLY, AND A DOG NAMED BUSTER?\\
''([[ChirpingCrickets Crickets.]])''
* HasTwoMommies: What Buzz thought about his and Woody's relationship to Andy after he gets reset after his chip is replaced.
-->'''Woody:''' Andy is our kid, Buzz! Our boy!\\
'''Buzz:''' "Our" boy? Like our son[=--=]? ''(suspicious)'' Are you saying you and me are... y'know... one of those "two Dad" families?
* HereWeGoAgain: The toys successfully fix Buzz and get back to Andy's room before he gets back... only for Andy to get Buzz's recall notice and send him off to Taiwan again.
* IJustWantToBeLoved: Rosey's motivation for tagging along with Buzz is being repaired so she can finally be loved by a kid.
* IWillOnlySlowYouDown:
** Buzz tells Rosey and Jade to leave him behind when his chip starts failing. They [[NoManLeftBehind refuse to abandon him]].
** Woody and Buzz get trapped on the toy crusher. Buzz manages to escape, but Woody struggles to get free and tells Buzz to go without him. Buzz manages to free him, only to get his own leg caught in a clamp and crushed.
* KidsAreCruel: Though not nearly to the extent of the Caterpillar Room's kids, the kids in the Taiwan daycare Woody and his friends get stuck in don't treat them particularly well. Bullseye is made up to look like a ''Franchise/MyLittlePony'' doll, Hamm and Rex are forced to wear diapers and act like babies, and Woody and Jessie are forced into a mock marriage ([[LikeBrotherAndSister to their disgust]]).
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: [[LikeBrotherAndSister Woody and Jessie]] elect to pretend their daycare wedding never happened.
-->'''Jessie:''' We will never speak of this day again.\\
'''Woody:''' Believe me. What happens in Taiwan...\\
'''Both:''' ...stays in Taiwan.
* MoodWhiplash: During the final fight, the toys have to briefly play dead when a human approaches.
* MsFanservice: Jade is described in the script as "a sexy, leggy doll in a jade colored slit-to-the-thigh evening gown".
* MyLittlePanzer: The recalled toys were all recalled due to safety faults. Rosey was intended to keep children warm at night but keeps [[PlayingWithFire catching on fire]], Jade's knees fold into sharp metal points and Buzz's parts malfunction to the point where he accidentally scratches Andy with his hand.
* OhCrap: Buzz and Woody share an "uh-oh" look when Andy read the recall letter.
* PlayingWithFire: Rosey's malfunction causes her to spew fire from her stomach. She was intended to keep children warm at night, but she just wound up burning them instead.
* PlotMandatedFriendshipFailure: [[DownplayedTrope Briefly]]. All of the rescue team blow up on Woody for his poor leadership after he accidentally gets them locked in a daycare, but they make up very quickly and don't bring it up again.
* RaceAgainstTheClock: The toys have to mail themselves back to Andy's room by 7pm, as that's the latest time the 2-day shipping will allow them to get home before Andy returns.
* ResetButton:
** Buzz is reset back to his factory settings and acts just like he did in the first movie, lacking any memory of his friends. He gets his memories back a minute later after Jade and Rosey remind him of Andy.
** The toys ultimately make it back to Andy's house before he returns, exactly as he left them.
* SequelGoesForeign: While the other ''Toy Story'' movies involved the toys going to new locations, they always stayed within America (with only one- ''WesternAnimation/ToyStory4''- even having the toys venture out of the tri-county area). This movie, on the other hand, would have had them go to Taiwan to save Buzz from being recalled.
* ThrowTheDogABone: Throughout the script, Daxx Blastar keeps talking down on his feline companion Comet, insisting the latter is not his partner, just an accessory doomed to obscurity. During the launch party, just as Daxx makes it clear that Comet will never be as popular as himself, Buzz drives in on a Space Ranger Rover and knocks Daxx into the Daxx Blastar set display, causing it to topple over and leaving Comet as the only figure standing. As a result, the press mistakes Comet to be Daxx Blastar himself, but highly approve him nonetheless.
* WhamLine: One from the creator of the Buzz Lightyear figures, Old Man Kagoy, that confirms he knows the toys are sentient.
-->'''Kagoy:''' Now you're talking, Buzz. What's up?
