!!Anime and Manga:
* After the completion of the original series,''Manga/CesareIlCreatoreCheHaDistrutto'', a manga about the early life of Cesare Borgia, announced a spinoff under the title "Canzoniere". The title refers to a collection of poems by Petratch, which Creator/NiccoloMachiavelli quotes in the end of Literature/ThePrince. In that chapter, Machiavelli ascribes motives to Cesare higher than simple greed and personal/family aggrandizement, motives that are rarely depicted in fiction about Cesare other than this manga. The poems describe a vision of Italy becoming more than the fragmented patchwork of feuding city-states that it was at the time, and this vision shared by Petrarch, Machiavelli, Dante, and, according to Machiavelli, Cesare, wouldn't come true until 350 years after the death of the last of these.
