** [[spoiler: Shoutmon X7 Superior Mode is a mixture with [[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 Imperialdramon Paladin Mode's]] White and gold color with bigger wings like [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Gundam Wing Zero Custom]] and his godly fusion status is similar to [[Anime/DigimonFrontier Susanoomon]] taken to UpToEleven The way he fuses with everything in the digital world besides [=DarknessBagramon=] also brings to mind of the the [[Manga/GetterRobo Getter Emperor]] or [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann]].]]
** Bagramon seems to have have taken some cues from [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Lordgenome]], as both are mostly portrayed as sitting on their thrones and ordering their generals around most of the time, despite being extremely powerful on their own. Bagramon is a FallenAngel while Lordgenome was a FallenHero, and they both have ''incredibly'' badass beards. Of course, this would in turn also make Bagramon a bit of a shoutout to [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Master Asia]] as well, whom Lordgenome was partially inspired by.
** In Episode 21 - [=MetalGreymon's=] armored hand [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam begins to glow in gold]], which he then used to smash [=SkullGreymon's=] face.
** Many people, after seeing episode 48, have declared that [[spoiler:Lilithmon]] turns into [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam the Devil Gundam]].
* ''Anime/EurekaSeven'':
** The three annoying kids are designed after the three annoying kids from the original ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
** Weird pink explosions are from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
** The Nirvash typeZERO is nicknamed the "[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam White Devil]]."
** Ray and Charles' mechs are painted in Max and Miriya's colors from ''Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross'' and have strong similarities to ''Gundam'''s Ramba and Hamon. There are [[{{Homage}} similar interactions and showdowns]] between the Gekkostate and the Beams and those sets of characters.
** Anemone is a violently insane genetically altered TykeBomb in a red and black version of the hero's mech, similar to the situation with ''[[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Zeta Gundam]]'''s aptly named Psyco Gundams.
** Several elements of the plot and characters resemble elements from ''[[Anime/AfterWarGundamX Gundam X]]'', though this may be coincidence.
** An event occurs at co-ordinates [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam0080WarInThePocket 0080]] [[{{Anime/MobileSuitGundam0083StardustMemory}} 0083]].
* ''Manga/ExcelSaga'': Episode 22: References ''Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato'', ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'', ''Anime/CaptainHarlock'', and ''Anime/QueenEmeraldas''. Also, Excel sings a line from the ''Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico'' opening in the English dub.

* ''Manga/FoodWars'':
** For the cooking lesson with the children post-Fall Classic preliminaries, Soma carves several vegetables into figurines, one of them being a very detailed [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam]], not to mention one of the boys is playing with a [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam RX-78-2 Gundam]] figure and wears a ''[[BlandNameProduct Cundam]]'' shirt.
** The sound that accompanies the episode numbers in season 3 of the anime is the same as a [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Newtype Flash.]]

* ''Anime/GranblueFantasy'':
** Aside from her name and SR uncap art being an obvious reference to ''{{Franchise/Gundam}}'', the upgraded portrait of Rosamia's SSR version is a Colony Laser, complete with her talismans acting as solar panels.
** Zooey's uncap art is the [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Zeta Gundam's Hyper Mega Launcher]] pose, which is also used as a reference for [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Wing Zero EW]]'s Buster Rifle pose.
** Yet another Gundam reference, Sandalphon's Charge Attack Ain Soph Aur is identical to [[https://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/File:ZGMF-X20A_Strike_Freedom_Full_Burst.jpg ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom's Full Burst]] - a winged humanoid surrounded by {{Flying Weapon}}s which fire a barrage of laser beams. The difference is that Sandalphon has angel wings and he uses swords. Sandalphon's [[Creator/KenichiSuzumura voice actor]] also voiced Shinn Asuka, the pilot of Destiny Gundam (Strike Freedom's counterpart in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny'')
** Albert's FLB artwork has him do a mirrored salute of [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Heero Yuy]], which even his voice actor, Creator/HikaruMidorikawa (who voices both characters) noticed in his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSHfdTM4GD4 Granblue Channel]] episode.
** The "Handsome Gorilla" event also mentions two [[ShowWithinAShow book series read by the skypeople]] – "[[Franchise/{{Gundam}} Pundam]]" and "[[Franchise/PrettyCure PrePure]]".
** The trio end Chapter 1 of the third Lowain Bros event "A Walk on the Wild Side" by shouting "[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Just Communication?]]"
* ''Anime/GuiltyCrown'':
** Funell is basically a [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Haro]] with wheels and another paint-job.
** Gai's physical appearance looks like [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny Rey za Burrel]].
** Another Gundam-reference is actually present, as unusual as it might be for Gundam. See how the Apocalypse Virus turns people into crystals and kills them? Then remember how the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 ELS]] killed people. Exactly: By turning them into crystals. And in both cases the subject seems to feel tremendous pain from the conversion.
* ''Anime/GunBuster'': Gunbuster's design is a combination of a [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Zaku]], [[Anime/SpaceRunawayIdeon Ideon]] and [[Manga/GetterRobo Getter Dragon]].
* ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya'':
** In the episode "Day of Sagittarius" we have a ShoutOut to the ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' series ("Bring out the [[YouWannaGetSued * beep* ]]dams!"), including a censored one ''shooting.''
** In Endless Eight part four, Kyon references [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Mobile Suit Gundam 00]]: "Now I know how it feels for Virtue to do a purge".
* ''Manga/HayatetheCombatButler'':
** The opening has Eight copying the pose from the opening of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED''.
** This is included in the first opening where Hayate is protecting Nagi from the silhouettes of three robots, they are from right to left [[Anime/{{Gigantor}} Tetsujin-28]] [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam RX-78-2 Gundam]] and [[Franchise/{{Transformers}} Optimus Prime.]]!
** In a recent trailer, one can see a character who resembles ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamF91 Iron Mask Ronah.]]''
* ''Manga/ICantUnderstandWhatMyHusbandIsSaying'':
** When Kaoru takes a look at one of Hajime's porn magazines, she claims that all men are obsessed with boobs. Hajime affirms it and screams a familiar CatchPhrase frequented by [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Setsuna F. Seiei]] as a parallel while "piloting" from a cockpit:
--->'''Hajime''': "I...We...are boobs"!
** Hajime is watching ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers'' as he gushes over [[Creator/YukariTamura Nanoha]] [[CelebrityParadox Takamichi]]. When [[ActorAllusion Kaoru]] attempts to put on a {{Moe}} appearance, Hajime senses its presence via "[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Newtype spark]]" with the appropriate sound effect. His facial appearance, especially his eyes, changes as if Hajime has entered "[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny SEED]] [[SuperMode Mode]]".
** In episode 2 Hajime can be seen wearing a [[Memes/{{Gundam}} cardboard Gundam suit]] and quoting the first two words from the opening theme song of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
** In episode 3 the five boxes stacked on top of one another next to the fax machine contain ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' plastic models, specifically, the top three come from the ''SD Gundam'' line (seen via their enlarged, human-like eyes) with the second-from-the-bottom either the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED GAT-X105+AQM/E-X01 Aile Strike Gundam]] or the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam]] and the last one the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam RX-78-2 Gundam]].
** The first three shots of a scene in episode 12 (Hajime's PC screen, him sitting in his chair floating in space and a close of him giving the camera a thumbs up) mimic [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGBw4uCZ4hA the opening of]] ''Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam''.

* The Japanese title of ''Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico'', ''Kidou Senkan Nadeshiko'' (''Mobile Battleship Nadesico''), is a play on ''Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato'', ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Kidou Senshi Gundam]]'', ''and'' the term "YamatoNadeshiko".

to:

* ''Anime/Jewelpet2009'': In episode 8, a background character is drawn similarly to [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Amuro Ray]] and when his girlfriend slaps him, he says his immortal line "Not even my father hit me!"
* ''Anime/JewelpetSunshine'': The scenes in the mock preview of the final episode have references to ''Anime/MacrossFrontier'' and ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
* ''Anime/KillLaKill'':
** Ira Gamagori reminds of [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Dozle Zabi]].
** Nonon's Symphony Regalia Grave and Senketsu Shippu look very similar to the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam0083StardustMemory Dendrobium and Dra-c]]
** The way Jakuzure fires from her hat using the same regalia is similar to how the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamZZ Double Zeta Gundam]] fires its [[WaveMotionGun High Mega Cannon]].
** Inumuta's Final Goku Uniform has him sporting the same distinctive red, rhomboid, bridgeless sunglasses worn by ''Anime/TurnAGundam'' CharClone, Harry Ord, mixed with the looks of a Franchise/KamenRider. The suit's powers and the overall emphasis on lithe acrobatics make it a reference to Franchise/SpiderMan.
* The Japanese title of ''Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico'', ''Kidou Senkan Nadeshiko'' (''Mobile Battleship Nadesico''), is a play on ''Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato'', ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Kidou Senshi Gundam]]'', ''and'' the term "YamatoNadeshiko"."YamatoNadeshiko".
* ''Manga/LuckyStar'':
** When Clerk Sugita hits the wall after being hit by Anisawa, he mutters "''Asia''" -- this may be a reference to Master Asia from ''[[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam G-Gundam]]''
** At the end of the Episode 17 preview, Minoru yells "[[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Finger]]".
** Konata and Soujirou have a Franchise/{{Gundam}} related conversation in episode 19.
** Konata orders Tsukasa and Misao to form up for the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Jet Stream Attack]].
* ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'':
** The producer of the series, Akio Mishima, has come out on record as saying that much of the series was inspired by Nanoha's "''Franchise/{{Gundam}}''-ish" concept art, particularly the staff and the colours of her uniform (''Nanoha'' tribute fanbook, in Megami Magazine #91).
** Many of the attacks and techniques in the series are homages to mecha series, notably ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' and ''Anime/GaoGaiGar''. And especially Subaru, who can be considered a {{moe}} compact-sized ''Anime/GaoGaiGar''. Her TransformationSequence included the tornado and G Stone reveal from ''Anime/GaoGaiGar'''s Final Fusion. She also has Anime/GaoGaiGar's [[RocketPunch Broken Phantom]] and Protect Shade and [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsCompact2 Alteisen]]'s Revolving Stake.
** In fact, ''several'' of the characters are schoolgirl-shaped versions of various mecha. Nanoha herself is such an expy of the original [=RX-78-2=] that she appropriated its nickname "The White Devil", which is now more associated with her than with the mecha in some circles. Nanoha uses ''[[AttackDrone fin funnels]]'' during the third series due to the standard powerup curve making her resemblance to a Gundam of the later UC timeline even more pronounced.
** The plot arc of the first three series is broadly similar to that of the ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' series ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' and ''[[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Zeta Gundam]]'', with the blond nemesis doing a HeelFaceTurn and appearing as an ally in the second series, and a long TimeSkip between the penultimate series and the third installment, during which the protagonists grow up (''Anime/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack''). The main difference is that Fate, unlike Char, does not undergo a later FaceHeelTurn.
** Reinforce, and her tinier, cuter incarnation, Reinforce Zwei. In ''[[Anime/MobileSuitVictoryGundam Victory Gundam]]'', there's a battleship named Reinforce, which was later remodeled into the Reinforce ''Junior''.
** ''[=ViVid=]'' character Einhart has the family name of Stratos. Part VehicularThemeNaming, part ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Gundam 00]]'' reference.
* ''Anime/MacrossDelta'':
** As a royalist nation that declares independence from the U.N. and follows it up with an invasion, the Kingdom of the Wind is [[{{Expy}}a rather clear send-up]] of the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Duchy of Zeon]].
** Roid's speech in Episode 15 pretty much solidifies him as a [[ANaziByAnyOtherName Gihren's]] {{Expy}}.
** Epsilon Foundation's support for both the Windemerians and the UN Government makes them an Expy for Anaheim Electronics.
*** Contractors supporting numerous factions occur very frequently in the world of Macross, especially given how big its world is. Moreover, Epsilon is implied to be the remnants of the anti-UN organization responsible for designing the SV-51 dating as far back as Macross Zero, and they still want to topple the UN/NUN even now (via Windermere). However, to keep the NUN off their backs, they needed to play both sides. Though they are certainly not going to supply the NUN with their newest SV-262s.
* ''Manga/MonsterMusume'': In the bonus of Volume 6 featuring Lala, she is reenacting the finale of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' with her body in the headless Gundam "Last Shooting" pose and her head as the Zeong's head. This is doubly appropriate since the original pilots Amuro and Char were in a LoveTriangle with a girl named Lalah.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'': The Sturm und Drang Brothers in ''Vigilante'' have an attack formation based on the Jetstream Attack of the Black Tri-Stars in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'', with the three of them lining up in a row and each using a different different "attack" in rapid succession, facilitated by their superior speed and agility. The difference being that the Tri-Stars used ''actual attacks'', while the Sturm und Drang Brothers are just idiotic perverts who in turn [[PantyThief flip a woman's skirt, steal her panties, and wear the stolen panties]].
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'': According to Kakashi, the Kyuubi's [[LawOfChromaticSuperiority red chakra]] makes his techniques [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam three times as powerful.]]
* ''LightNovel/NyarukoCrawlingWithLove'':
** In Episode 1 of ''Nyaruani'', Nyarko channels [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Setsuna F. Seiei]] as she declares "I am...we are...Cthulhu!"
** In the first episode, Nyarko yells the names of ''{{Franchise/Gundam}}'' mecha; the first episode of ''Nyarko-San W'' repeats this, but specifically uses machines that appear in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamUnicorn''.
** Cuuko's Episode 9 story about why she fell for Nyarko involves her being forced to play the bad guy in a pretend ''Manga/SaintSeiya'' game; one of the other games Nyarko mentions busting up is "[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Federation vs. Principality]]", with censored-out Bright Noah and Garma Zabi (and Nyarko in Sayla Mass's uniform).
** Episode 4: "[[Film/MarsAttacks Mothers Attack!]]"; the chapter of the novel upon which this episode was based was called "[[Film/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack Mother's Counterattack]]"
** Episode 6: "[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam0080WarInThePocket War in the Market]]"
** The "OnTheNext" preview for Episode 10 has Nyarko using Mahiro's voice to quote [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Haman Karn, Kamille Bidan]], and [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Lockon Stratos]]. Mahiro, in the meantime, says "I was stupid, so stupid!", a line said by [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica Sayaka Miki]], [[ActorAllusion who like Mahiro is played by]] Creator/EriKitamura.
** The Space CQC Jammer and Space CQC Jammer Canceller refer to ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'' and the Neutron Jammer and NJ-Canceller. However, ''SEED'' never went to far as to have a [[OverlyLongGag Neutron Jammer Canceller Breaker Disruptor etc. etc.]]
*** On top of that, the pose Yithka and Isurugi make when firing off their guns is the "Last Shooting" from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
** Isurugi uses the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamAGE AGE Device]] to summon his master.
** The "How to Defeat a Kind Enemy" ends with a preview of the second season, ''Haiyore! Nyarko-San W''; when Mahiro asks "Why W?", Nyarko responds "[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing That's because five young men will fight for the independence of the colonies...]]".
** Episode 2 Season 2: Tamao declares to Nyarko "A person's heart being stolen by another person's overwhelming power is without a doubt, love!", playing off of [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Graham Akre's]] declaration of "love" to Setsuna F. Seiei and his Gundam Exia.
** The Next Episode preview follows Episode 3 Season 2 starts with Nyarko saying "[[Series/KamenRiderOOO These three things will happen next time! One!]]" When she doesn't follow this up, Mahiro asks what happened to them and she responds "The other two are just for decoration. The higher-ups...", referring to the dialog in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' when Char receives the Zeong, asks about its lack of legs, and receives a similar response from the technician.
* ''Manga/OnePiece'': During Sabaody Archipelago, after Luffy punches Saint Charlos, Saint Shalulia exclaims in shock that "he's never even been hit by his father", referencing the famous Bright Slap scene.
* ''{{LightNovel/Oreimo}}'': [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Bajeena]]... really, Saori?
-->''"It's not even funny as a joke. Call yourself Psyco Gundam or [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Big Zam]] from now on."''
* ''Anime/OtakunoVideo'':
** Kubo's clothes are Amuro Ray's civilian clothing in the first few episodes of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
** When the characters reunite each other in the lift they talk about a ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' parody.
** During the school festival Tanaka dresses up as Char Aznable from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
* ''LightNovel/OutbreakCompany'': In episode 7 there's a [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED Freedom Gungal]] model instead of a [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Mobile Angel Bandam]] model.
* ''Anime/PantyAndStockingWithGarterbelt'': 08-B "1 Angry Ghost" raises the question of when did [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Lieutenant Matilda]] become a [[http://i56.tinypic.com/5ulsnr.jpg monkey]]?
* ''{{Anime/Patlabor}}'':
** The character Kanuka Clancy is named after writer Tom Clancy, and the title ''Mobile Police Patlabor'' is a play on ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
** Another Gundam Shout Out occurs in episode 32 of the TV series, where some mercenary labor pilots attempt a ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Jet Stream Attack]]''. It fails spectacularly. It hurts that the one pulling the surprise attack [[CallingYourAttacks shouted]] out "Jet Stream Attack" before he hit--his target actually telling him to "Shut up!". Apparently, he's something of an Otaku.
---> "But I practiced so hard!"

** The mask that makes Chiri grow giant is an Ultraman mask. She dispatches the mecha in a shot for shot parallel to Asuka mutilating the MP Eva's. [[BandageBabe Abiru]] even hangs a [[LampshadeHanging lampshade on it]]. "Why is she speaking in German?" The last kill is a ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'' reference (though it's called "Bakunetsu Gold Finger," she grasps the head so it's closer to the Shining Finger). Finally, she blows up the [[Franchise/StarWars Alien spaceship]] with Ultraman's cross laser thing, stock footage and all.
* ''Anime/{{Shirobako}}'': In Miyamori's fantasy during episode 11, she gets a look through other animation studios. Bee Productions features characters from some of Creator/ShinEiAnimation's productions including {{Manga/Doraemon}} and [[Manga/CrayonShinChan Shin Nohara]], while Sunup is staffed with numrous [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Mobile Suits and Zakus]].

** The A.L.E. has a head and barrels reminiscent of a [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Guncannon]].
** When the gang think the future echos they're getting mean they've developed special powers, there's a direct homage to [[http://i.imgur.com/T0hqTNY.jpg this iconic scene]] from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam''.
** The young Meow apparently built [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Tem Ray's Circuit]].
** Dandy, QT, and Meow end up jumping from one universe to another, jumping through various animation styles, character designs, and laws of physics as they go. One of the universes was ''[[Manga/AttackOnTitan Attack On Dandy]]''. In another, they're [[Franchise/{{Gundam}} Mobile Suit pilots]], with Dandy specifically being a CharClone... literally.

** Scarlett's ex-boyfriend is a [[Franchise/{{Gundam}} Mobile Suit pilot]] wearing a Universal Century Earth Federation Space Force pilot suit and piloting what looks like a cross between a Gundam and a [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamF91 Crossbone Vanguard mobile suit]]. His name is Dolph, and looks just like Creator/DolphLundgren.
** The battle between the Jaicro and Gogol Empires plays out just like [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam The Battle of A Baoa Qu]].

** A large part of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOBG3CCew7Q Parallel Works 8]] (which isn't really "parallel" at all and serves as Lordgenome's StartOfDarkness) seems to shout out to the concept of [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWars SRW]], as a lot of the Spiral Army mechs look like GL-ized versions of various famous mecha - a ''Anime/MazingerZ'', several Franchise/{{Gundam}}s, a Anime/{{Gaiking}}, an [[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Arbalest]] and many others are clearly visible in the big "pan-back" around 1:00 and you can spot other shoutouts when Genome [[TragicMistake slaughters his teammates]]. The "aliens attack, various robots team up to fight invaders" plot is even boilerplate SRW. So the implication is that Lordgenome lead a Super Robot War and then became ''the villain'' of such... ''[[TheBadGuyWins and then won]]''. HilariousInHindsight when ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ Super Robot Wars Z2 Saisei-hen]]'' came out - in that game's backstory, Lordgenome was part of a group that apparently included some form of ''Anime/{{Mazinger Z}}'', ''Manga/GetterRobo'', ''{{Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross}}'', and OriginalGeneration characters.
** The show's episode titling conventions may or may not be an intended shout out to After War Gundam X, which uses the same naming rules.
** The design of the Grapearl looks like a mix between the [[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Arbalest]], the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam GM]] and the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED Strike Dagger]]. Then again, it isn't surprising that it's similar in design to several Mass-Produced Real Robots, considering its own status in the series.
* ''Manga/UzakiChanWantsToHangOut'': Hana's speech about Chocomint in episode 5 takes a lot of cues from [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Gihren Zabi's]] Sieg Zeon speech, especially with the "Turn your sadness into anger" line.

Added DiffLines:

* ''Film/PacificRim'' contains a whole slew of ''Gundam'' references:
** The helmets worn by Cherno Alpha's pilots bring to mind any number of sci-fi designs, but particularly seem to invoke ''[[Anime/ArmoredTrooperVotoms VOTOMS]]'' and ''Anime/{{Gasaraki}}'', or perhaps more pertinently the HRL pilot suits from ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Gundam 00]]'', the HRL being the superbloc that contains Former Russia.
** Mako being rescued by Stacker in the flashback is reminiscent of Setsuna's first scene in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam00''. "I must become Jaeger!", anyone?
** When Knifehead tore off Gipsy Danger's arm, the pain was felt by the pilot, similar to the Mobile Trace System in ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam''.
** Drifting may-or-may-not-be an acceptable version of New Type bonding, as shown in ''Mobile Suit Gundam'' and ''Zeta Gundam'' [[StrangledByTheRedString or not.]]
** Many of the Cadets regroup in front of the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Anaheim Electronics]] ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' Museum.
** Del Toro himself admitted, in a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5va1sepKKo Japanese TV program]], that Coyote Tango and Cherno Alpha are inspired, respectively, by the Guncannon and a Zaku-II from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'', especially the former one. Specifically, it appears to be based on the RX-77-01 version from ''Manga/MobileSuitGundamTheOrigin'', with its 3-clawed hands, larger cannons and blue visor.
** Striker Eureka has "GN 000" printed on its left chestplate. This is the model number of the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 0 Gundam]], which becomes more appropriate once Stacker is in the driver's seat.
** A statue of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam from the titular ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamUnicorn'' can be seen in Tokyo in ''Uprising''. For an added shout-out, a piece of debris strikes the right shoulder, the only place where the Mobile Suit had even been damaged in the series.
* ''Animation/RPGMetanoia'': There are replica models of the [[Franchise/StarTrek Enterprise]] and what seems to be the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam RB-79 Ball]] in Cel's room.

** An actual [[Franchise/{{Gundam}} Zaku II]] that's been left at Gengai's for fixing, which Gintoki keeps pestering for even though the pilot (whose cosplaying as Char Aznable) has come to pick it up.

* ''Series/TheExpanse'': One of the asteroids dropped [[spoiler:by Marco is shown landing right on top of Dakar]]. This was the place Char planned to drop the Asteroid Axis in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack''. Marco's uniform as leader of the Free Navy is also a blue version of Char's uniform in that movie.

* ''VideoGame/{{Xenogears}}'':
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Amuro]] [[XCalledTheyWantTheirYBack called. He wants his Magnetic Coating back.]]
** [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Domon]] would also like to have a word regarding Weltall Mk. II and its System Id, as would [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Ramba Ral]] regarding Brigandier/Andvari's weapons. And Aerods? More like [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam funnels]]. They're even housed in the skirt armor when not in use.
** [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Allenby's Gundam]] and her going berserk and having Domon give her a similar speech before defeating her are very reminiscent of Fei talking to and defeating a drugged up Elly in Vierge.
** The Dark Gundam's penultimate form mutates organic wings, as (the location) Deus does. When traveling through its interior, Domon even goes through similar tunnels as the ''Xenogears'' party does. And, of course, there's the fact the love interest is assimilated with the BigBad and is rescued by the protagonist. The last few episodes are where ''Xenogears'''s homages really begin to shine through, and this was all done intentionally, and as such it does nothing to make the endgame less awesome. See SincerestFormOfFlattery.
** OR-Weltall's posture is remarkably similar to the [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Master Gundam]]. Unsurprising, considering who pilots it. In battle, it also sports a few rather notable aesthetic similarities to [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Deathscythe Hell Custom]].
** At one point we have main hero and his rival use their [[HumongousMecha Gears]] to push away a massive falling object. [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack Seems slightly familiar, no?]]
** Kahran Ramsus [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam has an obsessive grudge against the protagonist and challenges him to battle at every opportunity, only to have his clock cleaned every time]].
