[[caption-width-right:350:And that's how you save a Pikachu with style![[note]]The stop itself often contains one or more of the following elements, in order to keep the reference recognizable: One, it is a skidding stop, not just like one is rolling up to a stop sign on a leisurely drive. Two, the skid's direction is away from the camera, which remains stationary to give a perspective on just how far the move goes on (and by extenstion how fast the bike was moving before the skid was initiated) Three, the bike is pointed perpendicular to the direction of the skid, and is tilted slightly towards the "camera" so both the side and top of the vehicle are visible. The rider may also have their "low side" leg extended and dragging on the ground as if using their foot to keep them from laying the bike all the way onto the road. And four, the rider of the bike is staring "up" at or towards the camera, and maintains the gaze until the vehicle comes to a halt. Oftentimes this helps gives the indication that the "action" that the rider is focused on is happenning "behind" the camera, as if they skidded past and are in the middle of turning the bike around or will simply hop off and run back to the scene. While it isn't imperative that the scene in question has ''all'' of these elements, the most recognizable features is the bike sliding sideways away from the camera and the camera itself being stationary, rather than following the bike or it's movements.[[/note]]]]

* The iconic "Akira Slide" features in the cyberpunk portion of the aesthetic pileup that is the [[https://youtu.be/U0G5OA6ZH5w?si=lxVzbtSIim75WeuP&t=60 music video for Bouncy (K-Hot Chilli Peppers)]] by K-pop group Music/ATEEZ. The reference is fitting given the dystopian themes of the album for which it serves as a single.
