Asami weeps while clutching her precision cutter, and she stands outside of her classroom while observing her ex-friends kissing up to Nanaya, who seems happy by their interest in her. But as she mentions how its her dream to have people read the manga she's been working so hard on, Asami finds herself distraught as she recalls cheering for Nanaya's success in the past. She runs outside and continues to cry before throwing aside the cutter.

The following day Asami's mother checks up on her knowing how sad she is but Asami refuses to say anything as she lays around in bed. Just then she gets a text message and to her surprise, it's from Miki. She hopes that maybe they want to apologize but it turns out to be a cruel message, in which they say that because she no longer exists at school there isn't any point in her showing up. They even send a happy group picture they took to rub salt into the wound.

The girls discuss their plans of targeting a cheater who deserves punishment and set up the divination board. They teasingly remark on how mean Nanaya is, like them, and suggests they send another message to Asami. Nanaya bluntly tells them not to bother and to get on with the fortunes, which causes them confusion. She then goes on to bring up a rumor she heard about the paper, how someone stepped on it once and later suffered a heart-attack. This startles the group for a moment and they recall hearing similar rumors. They turn their attention to Miki and Shio, who were the ones dragging the coin all over it. The duo feverishly deny having done anything wrong though, since the coin hasn't damaged the paper.

Asami is enraged and she throws her phone down, wondering why they feel the need to harass her when she didn't even come to school today. She weeps trying to understand what she could have done to make them lash out at her like this and she makes a wish to return to the day she entered that school. She recalls a day when Miki and Shio approached her to reveal that there are two open spots in the club Hiroto is in, and even though all three of them wanted it, the duo refused to let Asami try by reminding her that they saw him first. She played it off, unable to make an argument.

Suddenly, it dons on Asami that she hasn't been able to properly express her true feelings. Back then she let their opinions outweigh her own, and she always waited for someone to help her.

School has ended and the girls once again prepare to hold another divination session to decide which girl is the most popular with boys right now. As they are about to start they remark on someone not showing up that day, only to express shock upon seeing Asami walk into the room. Asami ignores their cold expressions and calls the girls out for being so cruel and mean-spirited, to hurt someone who thought they were friends. They were nothing more than a couple of liars.

Miki and Shio deny anything of the sort and demand Asami not speak to them, but her disruptive appearance earns the classroom a crowd. Asami grabs the divination paper and she momentarily locks gazes with Nanaya as the others warn Asami not to be reckless. By now Hiroto has shown up as Nanaya asks Asami why she isn't being a coward like before. Asami refuses to answer, and she rips the paper into several pieces as everyone stands back in fright.

Asami becomes light headed and falls to the floor. She loses consciousness as she sees a ghostly figure in the distance.

A while later Asami wakes up in the nurses office, where she is checked and informed that she has anemia. She asks Asami some questions but she's too focused on trying to determine why she isn't dead. Just then her elbow bumps something and she finds a paper left for her from Nanaya, and to her shock she finds a divination board inside, completely in one piece. It occurs to Asami that the other one must have been fake and she asks the nurse if she knows where Nanaya is, and she quickly gets up after being told she is transferring school's and left to be picked up for the last time just a moment ago.

Asami rushes outside to find Nanaya approaching her car, and she yells out to her. Asami asks if she switched them like she theorized an Nanaya confirms this is right. Asami correctly deduces that Nanaya pretending to befriend those girls in order to get the real divination board, but Nanaya informs her that she only did it because she wasn't going to let them beat her. She didn't expect Asami to rip it up before her though. She goes on to ask if Asami can be strong without her there and hands over the divination to her. Asami begins to weep and she thanks Nanaya for everything she has done to help her, and they exchange farewells.

Since then Asami continues to think of Nanaya. She doesn't believe thanking her was enough, and she will never forget having met her. In the school yard she digs a hole to bury the paper in hopes nobody else will suffer, then she pulls out a shoujo manga magazine and flips through it until she finds to see Nanaya's first published work. A comment was left by her stating that it is dedicated to the person who always supported her, and how she hopes she will be the first one to read this story.

Asami went on to return to her class, much to everyone's shock as the ghostly figure from before observes her. She has decided to continue looking forward rather than lingering in the past; even if she might feel alone she knows she truly isn't, and she can become stronger.
