On Venus, Paul receives a friendly welcome, apart from the younger two children stealing everything from his subspace pocket. Paul later attends a Sivana family gathering, pretending to be Beautia's boyfriend (at her request). The gathering is attacked, however, by a Sheeda Huntsman from the future, whom Paul is unable to defeat.
