Originally aired on November 16, 1995.

When David and Sam play around with his parents' new Mustang convertible, they accidentally break off a side mirror. David decides to glue it back on, hoping his parents won't find out what he did, but Emily thinks he should come clean. Wishbone imagines himself in the story of David and Goliath from Literature/TheBible, specifically the Literature/BooksOfSamuel.

Snippets of this episode were included on the 1997 VHS tape ''Film/KidsForCharacter: Choices Count''. The included excerpts focused on scenes early in the episode in which Emily fesses up to breaking a vase, which in the actual episode is merely foreshadowing for the main plot involving the car.

!!Tropes

* BBCQuarry: Israel was portrayed by Metrostone Quarry in Melissa, Texas.
* BibleTimes: This episode is adapting a story from the Bible, so the fantasy sections naturally take place in ancient Israel.
* {{Bowdlerize}}: The episode leaves out the part where, after slingshotting Goliath, David cuts off his head as a trophy.
* BrokenTreasure: The contemporary story centers on David trying to cover up the damage he caused to his parents' new car.
* DavidVersusGoliath: This episode is adapting the TropeNamer, with Wishbone playing David as he goes up against the giant Goliath. However, this aspect of the Biblical story is not mirrored in the contemporary story.
* DramaticShattering: When Nathan walks into the kitchen with the broken off side mirror, David drops a glass in shock.
* AGiftForThemselves: Nathan justifies buying a new car by claiming that it's a gift for his wife Ruth. Wishbone snarks, "I think I'll be looking for a box of dog treats for Joe's welcome-home present."
* HappilyEverBefore: The episode ends the David and Goliath story with David and Saul looking like great friends. Shortly after this, Saul gets jealous of David's achievements and tries to kill him, although it does work out in the end for David since he eventually replaces Saul as king. Of course, the Bible is ''really'' long, and they had to end the story somewhere.
* HonestyAesop: The message of the contemporary story is that you should own up to the bad stuff that you do. That's appropriately Biblical given how much the Bible emphasizes confessing your sins, but it doesn't really have anything to do with the story of David and Goliath in particular.
* {{Leitmotif}}: The behind-the-scenes segment discusses this trope, explaining how they had a gentle theme for David and a bellicose theme for Goliath.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: David takes his mother's new car out for a joyride despite being underage, which leads to him knocking off a side mirror.
* OneSteveLimit: Averted, since the story of David and Goliath is being adapted by a show that already has a David on it.
* PopCulturePunEpisodeTitle: The title is a reference to the film ''Film/LittleBigMan''.
* KidsDrivingCars: David and Sam try out his parents' new car. Granted, they don't drive it very far, but still.
-->'''Wishbone:''' What's wrong with this picture? Oh, yeah. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!
* TerribleIntervieweesMontage: The musicians auditioning for King Saul to help cure his headache. They subvert GiftedlyBad, but the horns, flutes and bass instruments are inappropriate for the soothing melody he wants. One duo ''nearly'' wins the audition, but their melody is a BrokenRecord that gets annoying after a while.
* WatchThePaintJob: Nathan gives Ruth a brand new convertible. David proceeds to test-drive it despite being underage and breaks off the side-view mirror while backing it out of the driveway.
* YouAreGrounded: David's parents tell him this after he confesses to damaging his mother's new car on an impulse. With that said, they do tell him they're SoProudOfYou for coming clean about it instead of letting his father blame it on the dealership.
