The gang travels to a mountain resort for some skiing and to watch a snowboarding competition, but end up investigating rumors of a snow creature that is attacking the participants. However, when Velma comes down with a cold and Fred injures his leg, it is up to Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne to solve the mystery.
!!This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
* CatchYourDeathOfCold: Velma bundles herself up almost to the point of immobility, declaring that she'll get the last laugh when all the others catch colds. She's the only one who ''does'' catch a cold.
* CellPhonesAreUseless: A journalist ranting about ratings has trouble with her phone. The gang suspect her because of her interest in getting people's attention. Later, Daphne's cell phone glitches while Fred is calling to warn her that the monster is coming. It turns out to be a ChekhovsGun, as the MonsterOfTheWeek was a machine radio-controlled by the villain, whose radio signs were causing interference on the cell phones.
* ChekhovsGun: Fred points out the large number of snowboarding videos to Velma, who's sick in bed. Unable to follow the mystery, she watched the tapes. That told her that Avalanche Anderson had friends in special effects, and was hence the most likely suspect behind the snow creature's rampage.
* DrawAggro: The gang encounters the spook of the week, a towering ice-man. Velma, who bundled herself in winter clothes to the point that she looks like a ball, can't keep up with the others. Fred comes back, shines his flashlight at the creature's face, and yells at it to pick on someone its own size, drawing it away from Velma.
* InjuredLimbEpisode: While distracting the snow creature from Velma, Fred tumbles down a snowy slope and breaks his leg. This puts him largely out of commission for the rest of the mystery.
* ObfuscatingDisability: The gang finds Avalanche Anderson, one of the competitors, lying in the snow, claiming to have been attacked by the creature. He claims it broke his leg, but Velma ultimately realizes he was really the snow creature himself. He was planning an amazing recovery just in time to win.
* PopCulturePunEpisodeTitle: The title refers to the song "There's No Business Like Show Business".
* RedHerring: The groundskeeper used to be a champion skier before suffering a CareerEndingInjury in a collision with a snowboarder. He's also pretty unfriendly. However, he's not the culprit.
* SickEpisode: Velma comes down with a cold during the mystery of the week. Her constant sneezing causes a lot of trouble and at one point, Daphne banishes her to bed, saying she's too sick to think.
* WrongInsultOffence: Velma immediately corrects the villain when he doesn't use the phrase "meddling kids."
* YouMeddlingKids: Parodied; the villain of the week refers to the gang as "interloping adolescents" in his MotiveRant; Velma corrects him that it's "meddling kids."
