* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Voltron's consistently anti-Galra activity, coupled with their disappearance (which left the few pro-Voltron ones at the mercy of others), has not exactly endeared them to the Galra, and they're understandably reluctant to accept their offer to join the Voltron Coalition. It takes fighting and stopping a monster, and Keith saving Lahn's life before they agree to join them.

Voltron and the Atlas engage Galra troops in combat and successfully capture the base, finding their old acquaintance Lahn at the helm. Lahn is reluctant to ally with them again following their perceived abandonment, but eventually agrees to go with them to answer a cryptic call from a couple of returning cruisers from his fleet. The cruisers are seemingly abandoned and the crew splits up to find survivors. Pidge, Allura, and Lahn deduce that a monster attacked the crew just as it chances upon Lance and Hunk. The monster attacks Keith, who recognizes it as a weapon Ranveig developed to rid of his Galra enemis but was unable to control. The team plans to blow up the ship to take the monster down but wind up engaging it in combat; they escape with just enough time to spare after Keith manages to summon a powerful gun with his bayard.
