* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: When Rusty and Hatred attempt to communicate on their watches, there is a lengthy delay making conversation difficult. Even in a universe with ''SCIENCE!'', communicating between Earth and outer space still takes time.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: We never see the fates of Baron Ünderbheit or Fat Chance. They are last seen on the Space Station while the others are evacuating. They are not on the escape vessels, and Phantom Limb and Radical Left use one of Fat Chance's Enigma Holes to escape. It's possible that they got blown up along with the station. (A deleted scene would've shown Ünderbheit escaping via an Enigma Hole as well, leaving Fat Chance stranded on the station.)

In his mansion, the Monarch and #21 fail to find a place willing to deliver food to their crummy neighborhood. They check the fridge, only to find it fully stocked with fine foods. When #21 begins to cut into a loaf of bread with a specific brand of knife, the Monarch realizes that Phantom Limb had been living there. Monarch finds blueprints for Gargantua-2, realizing that Phantom Limb is planning something with the station. He and #21 prepare to go to space.

On Garganuta-2, the guests are in the casino. Rusty complains about his treatment on the space station by his brother. Dean mentions that no one has seen JJ since they got there, and Rusty decides to go find him "to give him a piece of [his] mind." Brock and Amber enter just as Rusty leaves.

Rusty enters JJ's office to find him there with Billy, who was giving JJ a medical exam. Billy leaves after saying "I'm sorry," to JJ. JJ surprised Rusty by jumping onto him to give him a hug. JJ reminisces about the day he was "born," and then reveals to Rusty that he is dying. Suddenly, the Investors enter the office. JJ says he'll "review those terms" later.

At the Guild HQ, the surviving council members, led by Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, attempt to escape. They are attacked by a slaughterbot and Mommy Long Legs is killed. Watch and Ward are controlling two diamond dogs and use them to destroy the slaughterbot.

Killinger continues his battle with the Investors, having successfully killed two of them as Monarch and crew arrive aboard the meteor, where it is revealed that the lightsaber battle was a form of psychic duel. The appearance of Monarch and crew distracts the remaining investor, where Killinger stabs him in the chest with his umbrella. He tells them that they arrived "just in time", and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch falls to the ground from her injury.

** Not witnessed on-screen, but The Murderous Moppets (Tim-Tom and Kevin) are implied to be dead by Dr. Mrs. the Monarch as a result of the events of ''[[Recap/TheVentureBrosS5E8TheDevilsGrip The Devil's Grip]]'' (either from the other henchmen as punishment for them killing 24 or by Hatred when he blew up the Cocoon).

* BatmanGambit: Part of Killinger's plans rely on it, more specifically getting Dr. Mrs. The Monarch on board Meteor Majeure (which was based on the Monarch's issues with with the Phantom Limb, his desires to become part of the Council of Thirteen after his wife became a member, and his wife coming to his rescue when she realizes his life is in danger).
* BigBad: Sovereign takes the role for this episode. The other villains are up to their more standard villainy, but he is the driving force behind almost all of the actions.

* CastHerd: After playing it straight, if occassionally Downplayed in the rest of the series, this episode notably averts it. Virtually every character of prominence in the series appears in this episode, and nearly all intersect at one point or another. The two biggest names NOT to appear are probably Pete White[[note]]who does appear in the web-exclusive epilogue[[/note]] and Molotov Cocktease. Some, like Shore Leave and Dermott, have only brief cameos. Still, it's pretty impressive that they were all squeezed in for a show with dozens of developed characters. The Creator/AdultSwim[=.com=] episode description puts it rather well:

* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: The Sovereign. He kills off most of the Council of Thirteen so they won't interfere with his (highly illegal) plan. In order to get out of his deal with the Investors, he tries to kill them by having Phantom Limb blow up Gargantua-2 with them on board. It's clear from Phantom Limb's reaction at the end that Sovereign didn't plan on keeping his deal with Limb, either.

* DealWithTheDevil: It is revealed that The Sovereign got his position thanks to a deal with the Investors. And now he is trying to kill them before they come to collect on his end of the deal.

* MadeOfIron: Subverted. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch gets shot in the chest after escaping the Guild, but manages to keep going despite ongoing blood loss. She finally passes out after saving the Monarch, and even then, she's only saved because of Killinger.

* PragmaticVillainy: The reason Sovereign kills off the Council of Thirteen. His plan to blow up Gargantua-2 was against every treaty they had with the O.S.I., and they would have tried to stop him rather than risk the wrath of the O.S.I.
* ShootTheShaggyDogStory: Sovereign's entire plan in the end. He attempts to murder the Council of 13 (succeeding for the most part) so he won't have anyone stop his plans to kill the Investors by way of destroying Gargantua 2, violating the treaties with OSI meaning the Guild is probably facing major sanctions if not open war if they can't shunt all the blame on him, and the attack was completely pointless since the Investors are revealed to be powerful psychics with mental projection capabilities, so they were likely never on Gargantua 2 to begin with. Furthermore, he ends up dying by accident while Killinger wipes out the Investors on mostly unrelated business.

** The Sovereign (in the form of 21) compares Dr. Mrs. the Monarch, Mommy Longlegs, and Phage to the main characters from ''WesternAnimation/TotallySpies''.

** Wild Fop says that Sovereign "can be such a queen bitch," referring to the Music/DavidBowie song of the same name.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: This is Killinger's 3rd major appearance so far in the series, and he causes a major shakeup of the entire Venture universe.

* UnexpectedInheritance: [[PassedOverInheritance If he got anything at all]], Rusty expected only to be left Spider Skull Island and the X-2 (which is what he gave JJ to begin with). Typically, those end up going to the widow, Miss Impossible. Rusty passes out when he is told that JJ left him a multi-billion dollar company and its headquarters in New York City.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: We never see the fates of Baron Ünderbheit or Fat Chance. They are last seen on the Space Station while the others are evacuating. They are not on the escape vessels, and Phantom Limb and Radical Left use one of Fat Chance's Enigma Holes to escape. It's possible that they got blown up along with the station. Dr. Killinger stands before a fireplace, addressing the Revenge Society in their run-down mansion headquarters. He recaps the training that the members have been undergoing for the past several months. Fat Chance can now control his belly button portal, Prof. Impossible can now use his stretching powers as a form of shape-shifting, Baron Ünderbheit can now launch his metal jaw like a boomerang, and two new recruits have been added to the Society: Radical Left and Zero.

Outside, the Monarch, his wife, and Henchman #21 are remarking on the state of the mansion, which is the Monarch's childhood home. A jet, containing the Revenge Society, takes off from behind the mansion and flies away.

Back in his mansion, Monarch is complaining about the state of the place and that "squatters" had apparently moved in. Dr. Mrs. the Monarch becomes upset talking about how she misses the Moppets, who were apparently killed when their former home was destroyed. She is interrupted by her Guild communicator going off. The Sovereign has called for a meeting of the Council of Thirteen, of which she is now a member. She gets into a Guild car to take her to the meeting.

In the Guild Council room, Dr. Mrs. the Monarch joins in as Mommy Longlegs speaks uncontrollably "in the language of her people" to Phineas Phage. Monsenor joins in as well just as the Sovereign appears. Sovereign begins talking about how they are all about to witness the Guild's "finest hour." He reveals his plan to take over Gargantua-2 to the stunned Council.

In Brock's room, he and Amber Gold are watching a Shallow Gravy video, discussing Brock's relationship with Hank. They hear someone outside the room, and discover that it's Hank who heard the music. He realizes that they are on a secret mission, but Brock kicks him out of the room, telling him to pretend he never saw them.

In the Guild Council chambers, Dr. Mrs. the Monarch points out that the Sovereign's plan violates numerous treaties with the O.S.I. The rest of the council agrees, with Phage trying to resign. Sovereign "accepts all of their resignations," and begins pumping poison gas into the Council chambers. Watch and Ward appear on Dr. Mrs. the Monarch's screen with instructions on how to escape. They call themselves "the Guild Resistance."

The Monarch and #21 are at the airport, with #21 pointing out how bad of an idea it is to go to space "just to chase around Dr. Venture." Monarch says it's not about that, and reveals that he wants to "thwart" Phantom Limb, the Guild's most wanted fugitive, in hopes that doing so will get the Sovereign to put him on the Council of Thirteen.

Phantom Limb is in the bathroom aboard Meteor Majeure when the Sovereign's holographic head appears before him. He asks Limb if "Operation Backdoor" is proceeding as planned. After revealing that it is, Limb asks Sovereign about what will happen to the rest of the Revenge Society "afterward." Sovereign says that they will all be welcome on the Council of Thirteen.

At the Guild HQ, the surviving council members led by Dr. Mrs. the Monarch attempt to escape. They are attacked by a slaughterbot and Mommy Long Legs is killed. Watch and Ward are controlling two diamond dogs, and use them to destroy the slaughterbot.

Monarch and #21 are playing 20 Questions during their space flight when Dr. Mrs. the Monarch calls. She reveals Sovereign's plan to destroy the station only to discover that Monarch is on his way there. The call drops while she reveals a bullet wound on her stomach.

In the Sovereign's headquarters, a wounded Dr. Mrs. the Monarch arrives to confront him. He is in the form of Jonas Venture Sr., but she is not fooled and wants nothing to do with his villain cliches. He shifts back to his David Bowie form and activates the self-destruct mechanism of lair. She asks for a last request: to spare Gargantua-2 and her husband. He refuses, saying that the station must be destroyed to take out the Investors, to whom he owes his position of Sovereign. He flees, leaving Dr. Mrs. the Monarch bleeding and trapped.

JJ and Treister attempt to break through the security doors, but fail. Treister reveals that the cosmic radiation has given him superpowers and "Hulks out" to break through the door. Outside, Rusty and Dean are trying to manually restart the ray shields, but cannot. As Treister arrives to protect them from asteroids, Dean has an idea. The interns who build the ray shield had two-sets of arms, and they realize that the manual reset switch requires four arms. They restart the shields. JJ congratulates them, but is cut off by alarms warning him of a core meltdown.

In the Sovereign's lair, Dr. Mrs. the Monarch tries to escape but cannot. Watch and Ward break through the ceiling as the self-destruct timer ticks down. They reveal controls for an escape pod in the couch and use it to escape seconds before the lair explodes. Outside, the O.S.I. is moving in and the explosion causes Head Shot to accidentally fire his sniper rifle into the air. As Shore Leave berates him, an eagle (Sovereign) falls dead into the water.

Monarch and #21 finish their game of 20 Questions, with the Monarch guessing correctly (Lance Burton) as they go toward their impending doom. Monarch gets a call from Dr. Mrs. the Monarch as she arrives with Watch and Ward to rescue him with Sovereign's escape pod (which also apparently flies in outer space.)

After a ''Franchise/StarWars'' style credits sequence, TheStinger shows Dr. Killinger removing the bullet from Dr. Mrs. the Monarch, saving her life. Fat Chance's portal opens up next to them, and Phantom Limb and Radical Left fall through it onto the floor. Dr. Mrs. the Monarch angrily asks what Limb is doing there. Killinger explains that they are all exactly where they are supposed to be, and that this day has tested each of them. Limb begins to say that he has failed, but Killinger tells him that Limb has not, and that Limb only ever wanted to be on the Council of Thirteen. Dr. Mrs. the Monarch says that the Council is no more, but Killinger explains that there are thirteen chairs in this room. As Monarch excitedly runs toward one of the chairs, Killinger spins around in it and says "not you."
