A soldier is returning from a war one day and gains a special magic sack after showing kindness to some old men. This sack allows him to pull whatever he wants in with just a command, which he uses to great effect to drive out some wicked devils from the tsar's palace. He forces on of these devils into becoming his servant, eventually gaining a crystal chalice that allows him to see Death.

This sack allows him to pull whatever he wants in with just a command, which he uses to great effect to drive out some wicked devils from the tsar's palace. Then from one of the devils he gains a crystal chalice that allows him to cure those who are near death, by literally allowing him to see Death. Eventually, he uses these artifacts in tandem to capture Death in the sack. But what will happen to the world without Death? And what might happen to the soldier who so brazenly uses these artifacts?
