* OutOfCharacterAlert: Being a former V.A.C. operative himself, KIA immediately notices inconsistencies with what the V.A.C. Engineer claims. Aside from knowing trains never stop at server checkpoints despite the Engineer saying otherwise, KIA is left wondering why V.A.C. would leave a single operative on duty here, when they are required to leave at least three stationed in every location, without exception. After revealing all of this to Heavy, they theorize that the Engineer is a Distorted, alongside the other straggling passengers present before their train arrived. He and Heavy Guy play along with the Engineer and convince him to allow them to enter the server's backbone to undo the power outage themselves. And the moment they're out of sight, a Walker appears, ordering the Engineer and his fellow Distorted to dispose of the uninfected.

* AndroidsArePeopleToo: Bonkbot has long since been allowed to live as a civilian along with Fixer and Jumpsuit, but this episode reveals that he's not unique in this regard. Fixer takes him and Jumpsuit to a local coffee shop for breakfast, and he surprises him with the barista there: a robot Heavy. Upon seeing Bonkbot, the robot Heavy hesitates before serving Fixer and company, but Fixer assures him that Bonkbot is a friend. Turns out, according to Fixer, that this Heavy is a robot from Gray Mann's army; he was ostracized due to being defective. Thankfully, he was smuggled to safety, but he's constantly alert for any Gray-allied robots looking to capture him to be scrapped.

With their new paychecks, Fixer and Jumpsuit set off with Bonkbot to shop before they begin working again. Meanwhile, Heavy and KIA take a passenger train to a meeting place KIA wishes to reach, but it's mysteriously stopped at a server checkpoint by a lone V.A.C. agent. He explains that there's a power outtage preventing the train from continuing, forcing the passengers to wait at the station. KIA doesn't buy this explanation at all, so he hatches a plan with Heavy to return the server's power to normal themselves. In doing so, they find an unexpectedly valuable ally in Smoke.
