Bykov thinks that Kisegach had lied about pregnancy to snap him out of his coma, and tells about her "clever idea" to everyone else in the hospital. Unknowingly to him, she is ''indeed'' pregnant, and if Bykov finds out, this may shock him right back into coma. And the longer they wait, the greater is the chance that Bykov would deduce that it was not a lie all by himself. To reinforce his initial delusion, Kupitman and Kisegach creates an awkward "cover story" about how she came with idea about "pregnancy". The plan fails completely: firstly, the cover story Kupitman had prepared is too ridiculous to believe, making it painfully obvious that they're trying to hide something, and secondly... Bykov had found Kisegach's pregnancy test.

Varya plans to impress David with home-made food. But Lyuba tastes it, and tells her that it is inedible. But Varya chose the worst way possible to protect David from tasting it -- just insists that it's her and she wouldn't share -- which made her look like a greedy jerk. In attempt to apologise, she only makes the situation worse by telling that the food belongs to Lyuba. Since Lyuba is well-known for her cooking skills, Varya tries to "delicately" ask David for a possible reason why Lyuba's skills, both professional and culinary, suddenly degraded so much. Lyuba can't tolerate those lies for long, and tells David the truth. He tastes Varya's food and pretends to like it... only to throw up as soon as she leaves. When Varya suddenly returns and busts him, David tells her that they're not supposed to lie to each other, and invites her to restaurant instead.

* BaitAndSwitch: Gleb and Semyon decides to take the radical measures to deal with Bykov spying on them. We can hear the sounds of something being heavy beaten, and Phil screaming for mercy... and then the camera reveals that they took the spy gear off Phil, and smashed it to the point of it becoming unrepairable. Phil is actually a part of the plan, and the end goal is to provoke Bykov. Bykov never comes to them, because he gets distracted by Kisegach and her pregnancy, which interns takes as the sign that he doesn't give a crap about Phil.

* FawltyTowersPlot: Varya, instead of just admitting to David that she can't cook to save her life, tries to "protect" him from her (terrible) homemade food by insisting that it "belongs to [her]", making herself look like a greedy {{Jerkass}} in process. She tries to defuse the situation... by telling him that this was ''Lyuba's'' food (by itself rather questionable plan, since ''everyone'' knows how good her homemade food is, ''including David himself''). Varya clumsily tries to create an excuse why Lyuba suddenly became so bad at cooking, but Lyuba refuses to cooperate and just tells David the truth.
* GilliganCut: {{Inverted|Trope}}. Bykov is surprisingly calm when he tells Kisegach that he's aware about her pregnancy being real, and to her question how he manage this, he answers "I'm a gentleman, after all". Cut to Bykov (who just found Kisegach's pregnancy test) calling Lyuba: he need a medicine for his heart. After this, he ate six sedative pills, and now plans to eat seventh. Kisegach has only one reply to this: that she needs a pill or two for herself.

Bykov is now awake, and needs one of interns to become snitch, so he would be informed about their screwups even while he is still bed-ridden. Phil volunteers... because he plans to deceive him, by telling him what everything is "okay". But very first time he tried to lie to Bykov, he placed video camera on Phil's head, meaning he would act as Bykov's eyes. This worked at first, but then interns realised what camera cant't translate audio; now Phil warns everyone before entering, allowing everyone to cover for any illegal activities beforehand.

Bykov realises what Phil tries to deceive him again after his way too blatant attempt to simulate hospital working perfectly, and "upgrades" him with walkie-talkie, meaning he's now has a way to interact with world outside his ward. Interns quickly grew tired of this, and cooperated in order to destroy Bykov's spy equipment, as well as showing him what him forcing Phil to become a snitch may lead to (by pretending what Phil was injured in process).

Meanwhile, Kisegach's plan to deceive Bykov what pregnancy was fake failed completely: firstly, "cover story" Kupitman created was too ridiculous to believe, making it painfully obvious what they're trying to hide something, and secondly, Bykov found Kisegach's pregnancy test.

Lyuba grew tired of Vary lying about her culinary skills, and tell David the truth. He still pretended to like Varya's food... only to threw up immediately once she leaved, which she busted when she suddenly returned. David tell her what they're not supposed to lye to each other, and invited her into restaurant. Meanwhile, Phil, enraged by Bykov's indifference, call him and tell to just lye in bed and wait until he become better, instead of forcing other people into snitching for him... to which Bykov reminded him what he volunteered by himself.

* ImStandingRightHere: When Kisegach and Kupitman discuss Bykov possibly still being in coma (due to his lack of response to anything), he makes it clear what he is very much awake and can hear anything, and tells them to calm down: he would be fine.
* LethalChef: Varya's homemade food is ''painfully'' bad. Lyuba (who tasted it first) suggested her to not try this herself, and just throw it away. Of course Varya, as always, refused to simply tell the truth and tried to deceive David what it was cooked by Lyuba... big mistake, considering her reputation in the hospital. When Varya tried to find excuse how Lyuba suddenly cooked something so bad, Lyuba just grew tired of her and tell David everything as is. Later, David [[LyingToProtectYourFeelings actually tasted Varya's homemade food, and complimented her]]... but quickly threw up when Varya leaved... only for her to suddenly return and bust him.
* LyingToProtectYourFeelings: David's lie about Varya's homemade food (to protect her feelings) may had actually worked... if not for him to immediately threw up once she leaved... which she busted when she suddenly returned. After this, David tell Varya what it would be better for them to stop lying to each other from now on.
* OhCrap:
** Gleb and Semyon, when they realised what Bykov can use camera he attached to Phil's head to see them playing video games instead of doing work.
** Gleb immediately wiped that smug smile from his face once he realised what Bykov now can hear his insults (and reply to them), thanks to "upgrading" Phil with walkie-talkie. Other characters have similar reactions, but not as strong.
* RevealingCoverup:
** How Bykov confirmed what Phil tries to deceive him again? Because everyone, when gets on camera, were too eager to play enthusiastic, competent workers, making it obvious what they were warned beforehand about Bykov spying on them, and now do it in order to impress him. After this, he "upgraded" Phil with walkie-talkie, so now he can hear everything -- and respond.
** Kisegach and Kupitman's "cover story" to hide the fact what Kisegach's pregnancy was not fake was so ridiculous, it by itself confirmed Bykov's suspicions what Anastasia may be pregnant for real.
* SecretKeeper: Kupitman agreed to keep Kisegach's pregnancy hidden until she decides what to do with it.
* TheStoolPigeon: Bykov is still bed-ridden, and so needs snitch to inform him about other interns' screwups. Unsurprisingly, its Phil who volunteers, to which other interns reacted negatively. [[SubvertedTrope Except]], he does it in order to fool Bykov what everything is okay, "even if not everything is okay" (and since Phil volunteered, Bykov would not suspect anything). This plan actually impressed both Gleb and Semyon. But [[BadLiar Phil botched his very first attempt to deceive Bykov]], and Bykov forced him to tie video camera to his head, meaning what whatever sees Phil, sees Bykov. Interns quickly found a way to counter this: Bykov's camera can't send audio, so Phil can warn them beforehand, providing time to cover for any illegal activities (which still failed to convince Bykov, [[RevealingCoverup because everyone were just little]] ''[[RevealingCoverup too]]'' [[RevealingCoverup eager to please him be believable]]). When Bykov come too far, interns fooled him into believing what they lynched Phil (destroying his spy gear in process), to teach him a lesson.
