After Kisegach's attempt to learn more about new interns' successes (specifically Sophia, who seems to be smarter than Max and Lyosha) was derailed by Bykov, who interpreted it as "subtly" hidden jealousy, Bykov and Kisegach makes a bet: wether intern can fall in love with Bykov, or not. Under excuse that "good doctor must be good at everything", Bykov forces his (new) interns to test their grammar, by writing love letters under his dictation, addressed to Bykov. He takes Sophia's one and goes to claim his victory. Kisegach suspects that he's cheating, but has no proof and is forced to accept defeat. But she doesn't give up just yet, and asks Kupitman to verify Sophia's signature. Kupitman initially sticks with Bykov's version, but instantly turns on him when learns that Bykov lied about true size of the prize to pay him less. When searching the on-call room, Kisegach finds the "lover letters" from Maxim and Alexei, and realises that those were written on Bykov's orders. But Bykov vehemently denies being a cheater, and insists on asking interns themselves. Kisegach tries Bykov's method, and forces interns to write insulting letters towards Bykov, but Lyosha refuses. Bykov still insists that technically he'd won, since their bet didn't specify that the letter has to be from Sophia; and he wouldn't pay anything to Kupitman, as he'd betrayed him (that, and Bykov ultimately won without him).

Gleb, Semyon and Phil have a binge in on-call room -- just like in old days -- but on the next day Bykov sees the mess they've created. Bykov is in unusually happy mood and ignores them, but they knows that they wouldn't be so lucky the next time, and have to clean it up before afternoon. When they still fails to do so, but Bykov ignores them again, they takes it as a sign that he now considers them his equals. But when Kisegach tasks Gleb to bring Ilya's old toys to the Paediatric department -- he no longer needs them, as he has new ones -- he realises that Bykov just ''doesn't care'' about his old interns: he has "new toys" to "play with". And it feels insulting, as, their conflicts aside, Gleb ''does'' respect Bykov as a specialist! Semyon and Phil are perfectly fine with Bykov's indifference at first, but when they realises that he doesn't care not just about bad things, but about the ''good ones'', too, sides with Gleb. What else they can do? Get drunk again, of course.

Maxim starts mocking Sophia with a quote from old Soviet movie, ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardes-Marines,_Ahead! Gardes-Marines, Ahead!]]'', which suggests that she and Alexei could be just made for each other; Alexei actually quickly agrees with him, while Sophia... didn't even watch it (which surprised both guys), and finds the joke stupid and unfunny. Alexei and Maxim names several other old movies, only to realise that Sophia doesn't know almost any of them. She, in turn, names several European movies which she knows, and they don't (she, particularly, states ''Film/{{Antichrist}}'' as her favourite). Alexei, to make a peace, suggests that they would watch each other's favourite movies, to which she agrees. But when Sophia tries the movie suggested by the boys, she feels that it's extremely boring to her; when Kupitman arrives, who actually knows and likes it, she suggests to just rewatch ''Antichrist'' (especially since Kupitman didn't see it before). Meanwhile, Alexei and Maxim tries to watch ''Antichrist'', but gets disgusted by it (especially Lyosha), and decides to rewatch what they likes -- ''Gardes-Marines''.

After Kisegach's attempt to learn more about new interns' successes (specifically Sophia, who seems to be smarter than Max and Lyosha) was derailed by Bykov who interpreted it as "subtly" hidden jealousy, Bykov and Kisegach have a bet: wether intern can fall in love with Bykov, or not.

Gleb, Semyon and Phil had a boozefest -- just like back in old days -- but on the next day Bykov busted the mess they created. While Bykov was unusually happy and ignored them, it likely wouldn't help them again if they wouldn't deal with it before afternoon.

Maxim started mocking Sophia with quote from old Soviet movie, [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardes-Marines,_Ahead! "Gardes-Marines, Ahead!"]], which suggests what she and Alexei could be just created for each other; Alexei actually quickly agreed with him, while Sophia... Sophia didn't even watch it (which surprised both guys), and finds the joke stupid and unfunny.

When Bykov ''again'' ignored their screwups after they failed to dispose of their trash in time, Bykov's ex-interns started speculating what maybe Bykov just started considering them his equal.

Bykov, who thinks what good doctor must be good at everything, decided to test interns'... grammar, forcing them to write under his dictation. What they wrote... turns out to be their love letters, addressing Bykov. Kisegach suspects what Bykov obtaining those letters ''just'' after their bet started could be just Bykov cheating, but had no proofs and had to accept defeat.

Kisegach tasked Gleb to bring Ilya's old toys to the Paediatric department (he has new ones, and no longer interested it those), which led to Gleb realising what Bykov's indifference to screwups of his old interns was caused by him having new ones. He isn't happy with this, since he actually respected Bykov as specialist, and this looks downright insulting.

Of course, Kisegach didn't believed Bykov, and asked Kupitman to verify Sophia's signature -- wether it's real. Kupitman actually stick with Bykov's legend -- only for Kisegach to ask what sum Bykov promised for cooperation. She then added what bet was for 10K roubles; outraged Kupitman (Bykov lied to him what bet was for 5K, and promised 2K for cooperation) revealed ''real'' plan (mainly because he was promised 5K by Kisegach). When searching in on-call room, Kisegach also obtained Alexei's and Maxim's "love letters", realising interns wrote it under Bykov's orders. Unfortunately, Bykov still refuses to accept defeat, suggesting her to ask interns themselves.

Alexei and Maxim named several old movies, only to realise what Sophia doesn't know almost any of them. She, in turn, named several European movies she knows, and they don't (she, particularly, stated ''Film/{{Antichrist}}'' as her favourite). Alexei, to make a peace, suggested what they would watch each other's favourite movies, to which she agreed.

Semyon and Phil, who initially were perfectly happy with Bykov being indifferent to them, realised what he's ''completely'' indifferent to them -- both to bad ''and'' good things, like they are no one to him, admitting what Gleb was right. So, what they would do now? Get drunk again, what else they can do...

Kisegach forced interns to write new letters to Bykov, with exactly the opposite meanings... only for Alexei to refuse insulting Bykov, and thus, writing the letter at all. And as Bykov stated, their bet involved '"intern falling in love with Bykov", not specifically Sophia; which means, Bykov had won. This also means, Kupitman would not receive "his" money, since Bykov had won without his help, while Kupitman himself actually betrayed him.

In the end, Sophia tried to watch "Gardes-Marines", only to realise it's extremely boring for her; when Kupitman arrived (who actually likes the movie), she suggested to just re-watch ''Antichrist'', especially since Kupitman never saw it before. Meanwhile, Alexei and Maxim tried to watch ''Antichrist'', only to being disgusted by it (especially Alexei); they decided to just re-watch what they like instead -- ''Gardes-Marines''.

unfunny. Alexei and Maxim named names several other old movies, only to realise what that Sophia doesn't know almost any of them.

!! This episode provides examples of:
* TheBet: Bykov had a bet with Kisegach on big sum of money [[ItMakesSenseInContext what Sophia would fall in love with Bykov]]. Bykov decided to cheat by simply forcing interns to forge love letters.
* ExactWords: How Bykov ultimately won his bet with Kisegach despite both Sophia and Maxim (Alexei refused, considering it to be offensive for his mentor whom he genuinely respects) wrote new letters, with exactly opposite meanings to those they wrote for Bykov? By reminding Kisegach what their bet involved declaration of love ''from intern'', not from Sophia specifically, despite her being initial reason why they even started the bet in the first place. And since Alexei refused to take back his "love letter"... This is also why Bykov refused to give Kupitman money he promised him: they specifically discussed Sophia, but since Bykov won because of Alexei, not Sophia, Kupitman's involvement's value just dropped to zero (not to mention his betrayal).
* ImagineSpot: When Kisegach asked Gleb to bring Ilya's old toys to the Paediatric department (he has new ones, and no longer interested it those), Gleb realised what Bykov's indifference to screwups of his old interns was caused by him having new ones; cue scene with Bykov throwing away some toys with Gleb's, Phil's and Semyon's faces (bear, [[FunnyForeigner Mickey Mouse]] and [[ButtMonkey donkey]], respectively), only to grab new ones, with faces of Sophia, Alexei and Maxim.
* NoSympathy: While Semyon and Phil are perfectly okay with Bykov stopping caring about them, Gleb finds this indifference insulting, since he, under all hostility on the surface, ''does'' respects Bykov. Bykob technically being Gleb's stepfather does not help matters. Semyon and Phil, who tried to talk with Bykov (Semyon talked about his daughter, while Phil tried to ask for help with difficult case), only to realise he doesn't even listens them, and what Gleb is right.
* OhCrap: On the next morning after wild boozefest he had with Semyon and Phil, Gleb realised what they overslept and Bykov would enter at any moment, busting the whole mess they made, and friends started collecting empty bottles in panic. Fortunately for them, Bykov was too concerned with other things to care.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Gleb, Semyon and Phil just have wild boozefest in Bykov's on-call room, and were busted by Bykov when (suffering from heavy hangover) trying to get rid of the mess they created -- only for Bykov to appear. When Bykov ''didn't'' teared apart their heads for this, Semyon instantly realised something must be wrong. Phil assumed what Bykov just had a good mood, and Gleb added what if he would bust them again later, it wouldn't be so good, so they have better priorities than speculating why Bykov is so nice. Later, when this strange behaviour repeated, they jumped into conclusion what Bykov simply switched his wrath at new targets, due to considering ex-interns to be his equals now -- only for Gleb to later realise what Bykov switched attention because ''he no longer cares about his ex-interns''.
