Emos seem to be treated as separate animals to humans, as Yukari remarks in one of her reviews about 'Emo Youkai'... at the very least, their Youkai evolution path is different to a human's... also, an in-universe example by Tokage to Hebiko, done both in narrative and ''by having an obvious caricature of Hebiko killed brutally''. It's at this point Tokage comes close to MoralEventHorizon territory.
* TalksLikeASimile: A ridiculous amount of similes are used throughout the book, usually [[{{Dissimile}} not applying to the thing being described.]]

* ThisIsWrongOnSoManyLevels: Ran says about how Tokage's implication that she'd use her superior scent to find Yukari's underwear is wrong, and then detracts that statement, saying 'Actually, that's all this book is... wrong, wrong, wrong...'
* TitleDrop: Tokage's Narration calls Dawitsu Yukari's 'Forbidden Lover' many times...
* TrollFic: Deliberately terrible? Yes. However, [[SubvertedTrope subverted]] in that it seems the writer couldn't bring himself to the lowest common denominator, and any truly awful scenes (like the many implied sex scenes) have been cut by [[PaintingTheMedium terrible typographical errors]] where the typist supposedly couldn't handle whatever scene was originally written.
* TrueLovesKiss: Yes, she even pulls ''this'' trope on us...
* TrustMeImAnX: No-one ''ever'' doubts [[SelfInsert Hachuurui]] because she's a doctor, even on topics that a doctor doesn't specialize in (like love). However, this may have a touch of FridgeBrilliance if you look carefully enough (despite the book's heinous nature) as [[spoiler:Hachuurui turns out to be an angel of love.]]
* {{Tsundere}}: Yukari, type A. She helps Dawitsu out, but makes sure people know it's due to their EnemyMine... it's not because she likes him or anything...
* UnusualEuphemism: A book ''full'' of them. Not always about sex, as well. A notable one towards the end describes Sexy!Dawitsu's nether regions as a ''glowing rod of power''. Cue Dawitsu in the review section [[DeadpanSnarker snarking]] about how he was just carrying a glow-stick, with nothing erotic really going on.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Sexy!Dawitsu takes his shirt off ''to think''.
* WaxingLyrical: Done in violation of 'Show, Don't Tell', Tokage claims Yukari sang 'Love is our Resistance' by 'Youmu and the Half-Ghosts'... which in itself is a reference to {{Music/Muse}}'s 'Resistence', as well as acting as ContinuityPorn to small details.
* [[WhatDoesSheSeeInHim What Does He See In Her?]]: Tokage asks this about Dawitsu and Hebiko, but they're JustFriends really.
* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: Surprisingly, [[JustifiedTrope justified]] and finally [[SubvertedTrope subverted.]] [[spoiler:Evil Shinigami!Yutaka spends her time under Yuyuko's employment threatening to kill Yukari without actually doing so despite being able to on the basis that she has to harvest a certain amount of other souls before she can get to killing Dawitsu and Yukari. She eventually says "screw the rules", kills Yuyuko (even though she's a ghost), and decides on trying to kill Yukari anyway.]]
* YouAreTooLate: [[spoiler:Hebiko tries to make Tokage stop writing before she insults someone genuinely dangerous and that person decides to attack her... but next chapter, just that happens, leading Hebiko to review with 'I'm... too late.']]
* YouKeepUsingThatWord: Ethereal, Ephemeral, [[MyImmortal Ebony]]... all used ''to death'' in inappropriate circumstances.
* YouWereTryingTooHard: Tokage tries so hard it's unfunny, unlike Hebiko, who puts in little effort with greater payoff.
