most of the pre-existing tropes listed were misused

* AltarTheSpeed: Once Daisy and Enos get engaged they plan for the wedding to be the next day, though only Daisy knows it's because she wants to make sure they're married before his trial so she can invoke SpousalPrivilege so she won't be forced to testify against him.
* BadDate: Early in the episode the Duke boys go on a date with a couple of women at the Boar's Nest. What we see of the date is Bo & Luke having an arm-wrestling contest while their dates look on bored.
-->'''Cindy:''' ''[to Sandy, after the Duke boys leave]'' They sure are lucky they're cute.

* LoveOverridesTheLaw: In real life, the investigative process would quickly and decisively exonerate Enos after the robbers force him to commit robbery. In the fictional world of Hazzard, the only way Enos can acquit himself is to marry the only witness to what actually happened: His lifelong crush, Daisy.
* NoRomanticResolution (and its cousin, MaybeEverAfter): Although Enos and Daisy ultimately do not marry in this episode, it is strongly implied that the two are still more than just platonic friends and fans were [[LeftHanging left to wonder not if, but when the two would finally tie the knot]].
* ShotgunWedding: Although this one is because Daisy wants to protect Enos (from unjust charges) and not be obligated to testify against him.
* [[TheyDo They Don't]]: At episode's end, when Enos gets cold feet.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: What viewers had been asking for years ... and they ''almost'' got their wish with this episode.

* LoveOverridesTheLaw: In BehindTheBlack: One scene opens with Rosco looking out the window and saying to himself, "I smell peas. And pork chops." Then his sister/Boss's wife Lulu walks up to him and asks him to help her get Boss to eat the special lunch she brought for him, [[PutOffTheirFood which he doesn't want to eat]]. There's no reason for Rosco not to know what's in the meal, yet he doesn't until we see him seeing it.
* ClearTheirName: The Dukes try to find the
real life, the investigative process would quickly and decisively exonerate Enos after the bank robbers force him in order to commit robbery. In the fictional world of Hazzard, the only way clear their friend Enos can acquit from being sent to prison.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: When the Insurance Inspector calls Boss Rosco answers the phone and identities
himself by name. A minute later as Boss is talking to marry the only witness to what actually happened: His lifelong crush, Daisy.
inspector Rosco tells him [[RunningGag "Say Hello from Rosco,"]] which Boss does being so distraught and confused.
* NoRomanticResolution (and its cousin, MaybeEverAfter): Although DirtyCop: Enos is accused of being one of these when they think that he's the one who stole the money from the bank.
* GoodCopBadCop: Boss and Rosco try to use this on Enos during his questioning. Boss tells Rosco to be the bad cop but Rosco complains, saying that Boss is a better bad cop than he is. But when they do the questioning Rosco bad cops at Enos anyway.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: The Insurance Inspector, whom Boss calls "Mr. Inspector."
* ExtremelyShortTimespan: The episode takes place over the course of two days, from the morning of day one to early afternoon of day two. During that time the bank gets robbed, an Insurance Inspector comes to investigate, Enos gets jailed, Enos gets bailed out by the Duke family, the Deputy Attorney General comes to town to investigate twice, Daisy proposes to Enos, a wedding is planned, a wedding (almost) happens twice, Enos gets jailed again, and the bank robbers get caught. Just a typical slow day in Hazzard County.
* {{Flashback}}: There's one to [[Recap/TheDukesOfHazzardS2E17OfficerDaisyDuke "Officer Daisy Duke"]] where Daisy and Enos were on a case together. Enos sprained his ankle
and Daisy ultimately do not marry in this episode, it kissed him before setting off to capture the bad guys by herself.
* FrameUp: The two bank robbers decide to steal the money from the bank while it's only guarded by Enos instead of waiting for the armored car and then robbing the car. They also plan to frame Enos for the robbery. Later, they plant some of the stolen money at Enos's apartment and then call the authorities and leave an anonymous tip.
* GoingByTheMatchbook: Luke searches the bank robbers' abandoned getaway car and finds a matchbook from the Capitol City Motel, which
is strongly implied where they are staying.
* HonorBeforeReason:
** During Enos's third degree grilling Rosco suggests
that Enos get Daisy to change her story, but Enos refuses on the two are still more than just platonic friends and fans were [[LeftHanging left to wonder not if, but when the two grounds that he would finally never try to make Daisy say something that was a lie, though what she thinks she saw isn't what she saw, even if it means he goes to prison.
** At the wedding but before they
tie the knot]].
* ShotgunWedding: Although this one is because
knot, Enos has a EurekaMoment and realizes that Daisy wants to protect Enos (from unjust charges) and not doesn't really love him, she's just marrying him so she couldn't be obligated forced to testify against him.
* [[TheyDo They Don't]]:
him. He calls off the wedding, though he's arrested (again) before he can make the announcement.
**
At episode's end, the end of the episode after Enos is cleared, Daisy insists on going through with the marriage anyway to spare Enos's feelings.
---> If I was to call off the wedding, what would Enos think? He would think the only reason I asked him to marry up with me was to save him from going to jail. Now, I can't do that to him no matter what.
* IdenticalGrandson: Though we don't see the older copy. Jesse tells Daisy
when she's wearing his late wife Lavinia's wedding dress, "you look just like your Aunt Lavinia."
* MakeAnExampleOfThem: The Governor, through the Deputy Attorney General, plans to throw the book at
Enos to prove to the voting populace that no one is above the law, "even the law."
* MandatoryLine: Cooter
gets cold feet.
a brief scene even though he's not really necessary for the plot, presumably just because Ben Jones was a regular on the show. (Not that being a regular didn't keep him from being absent in quite a few episodes.)
* WillTheyOrWontThey: What viewers had NotMeThisTime: Boss's bank has been asking for years ... and robbed under suspicious circumstances five times in the last two years[[note]] actually six times [[NotHelpingYourCase as Rosco points out]] [[/note]], but this time Boss isn't involved.
* OldFashionedRowboatDate: Daisy talks Enos into taking her on one of these before she asks him to marry her. Enos almost falls out of the boat when
they ''almost'' got kiss.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Daisy sees Enos with the money bags and asks him about it, but he just tells her to move along and he'll talk to her later. She can tell that he's acting strangely but she doesn't know the reason.
* OnThree: When Bo and Luke are arm wrestling during
their wish date and notice that it's time to leave to pick up Daisy, they stop on the count of three so neither one has a chance to pin the other.
* PerfectlyArrangedMarriage: What Daisy hopes her plan to marry Enos will lead to. [[PatientChildhoodLoveInterest He loves her]] but she doesn't love him, at least no more than as a friend, but in order to keep from having to testify against him she plans to marry him. "Maybe I'll learn to love him."
* PopTheTires: During a car chase one of the bank robbers shoots the front right tire of the General Lee making the Dukes temporarily abandon the chase until they change the tire.
-->'''Waylon Jennings:''' Tire trouble again?!
* PragmaticVillainy: As the bank robbers are leaving town, before they get chased by the Dukes.
-->'''Robber #1:''' Better slow down.
-->'''Robber #2:''' Yeah. Wouldn't want to get pulled over for speeding.
* ProductPlacement: While at the bank guarding the money Enos reads a ''Looney Tunes'' comic book. The Looney Tunes and ''Dukes'' were both produced by Warner Brothers.
-->'''Enos:''' ''[reading the comic aloud]'' [[ElmerFuddSyndrome "No cawwots. My cawwots, you wascally wabbit!"]] Hee-hee!
* PunkInTheTrunk: When the Duke boys subdue the two bank robbers towards the end of the episode, they put them in the trunk of the General Lee in order to transport them into town.
* PutOffTheirFood: Boss is so disturbed by the events of the day he can't eat. Perhaps for the first time ever.
* RecklessGunUsage: During the bank robbery one of the robbers, while talking to Enos
with his gun pointed at him, gestures to himself by pointing the gun at himself momentarily.
* QuickDraw: While Boss is on the phone Enos entertains himself by practicing his quick draw, [[SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud making "pew pew" noises]] as he does so. Rosco gets in on it too, pretending to be in a showdown with Enos and getting 'shot' before he can pull his gun.
* ShameIfSomethingHappened: The Deputy Attorney General strongly implies to Boss that if Enos isn't prosecuted and convicted for the bank robbery, Boss will very quickly become the '''former''' Commissioner of Hazzard County.
* SpousalPrivilege: Daisy decides that, in order to keep from being forced to testify against Enos, they will get married.
* StatusQuoIsGod: At the end of the episode Enos is cleared but Daisy still intends to go through with the wedding. However, Enos breaks out in hives (he says
this episode.always happens when something good happens to him) so they postpone the wedding indefinitely [[spoiler: -- or at least until the ReunionShow]].
* TakeAThirdOption: The Deputy Attorney General tells Daisy that if she refuses to testify to what she saw after being subpoenaed she'll be in contempt of court, and if she changes her story she'll be guilty of perjury; either way, she'll go to jail. So Daisy decides to marry Enos so she can invoke SpousalPrivilege.
* ThrowTheDogABone: After Enos is cleared Daisy still plans to go through with the wedding with her PatientChildhoodLoveInterest.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Daisy innocently tells the Insurance Inspector along with Boss & Rosco that she saw Enos take some bags of money out of the bank and drive away, alone as far as she could tell. This gets Enos in a whole heap of trouble, and later the Deputy Attorney General tries to force her to testify against Enos.
* VehicularSabotage: One of the bank robbers cuts a rope holding a bunch of tires on the back of a moving truck, which roll into the Dukes' way when they're chasing them.
* WithThisRing: Enos forgets to bring the ring to the wedding so Bo & Luke head to Enos's apartment while everyone waits. They run into the real bank robbers there and give chase.
