Paddington borrows a stamp he shouldn’t, and gets his arm stuck in a mailbox while sending a letter to Aunt Lucy.

!!Tropes:
* ArtShift: Happens twice when Jonathan and Mrs. Bird are describing their plans to get Paddington’s hand out of the mailbox, as a crayon drawing and blueprint respectively.
* ClutchingHandTrap: While Paddington is trying to get the letter he put Mr. Gruber’s stamp on out of the mailbox, his hand gets stuck; but in order to free his hand, he’d have to let go of the letter.
* DeathGlare: Paddington gives one to Mr. Curry after he tells a rude joke at Paddinton’s expense which causes Mr. Curry to break out in a OverlyNervousFlopSweat accompanied with a LoudGulp.
-->'''Mr. Curry:''' W-what are you doing? W-why do I feel all hot and insecure?
-->'''Paddington:''' I’m giving you a hard stare as you seem to have forgotten your manners.
* DudeNotFunny: The Browns’ reaction to Mr. Curry’s joke upon seeing Mr. Brown trying to free Paddington’s hand from the mailbox.
-->'''Mr. Curry:''' Ha ha! Maybe push him all the way in and send him back to Peru!
* IncrediblyLameFun: Mrs. Brown thinks the family’s weekly walks are great fun, despite her children thinking otherwise. In order to spice things up a bit, she excitedly announces that they’ll walk back home on the ''other'' side of the street!
* ItsALongStory: Parodied. When the Browns find Paddington with his hand stuck in the mailbox, he tells them it’s a long story. He then proceeds to tell them the whole story in a matter of a couple sentences and realizes it’s really not that long after all.
* RidingIntoTheSunset: Mrs. Bird’s plan ends with her and Paddington driving off into the sunset on her motorcycle.
* StatingTheSimpleSolution: After realizing he can’t get the letter out because his hand won’t fit, Paddington dejectedly decides that he’ll have to just stay stuck in the mailbox forever. Judy then suggests that he let go of the letter and just wait for the mailman who could get it out for him.
* WorthlessYellowRocks: Paddington uses Mr. Gruber’s favorite antique stamp on his letter to Aunt Lucy, figuring it wouldn’t be missed because it’s dusty and old.
