A passerby, claiming to be from a museum, expresses such admiration for the Addamses' antique harpsichord that Gomez and Morticia offer to donate it. However, this proves difficult as Lurch, extremely fond of the harpsichord and of playing it, drops into a slump after the revelation.
!!This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
* BeQuietNudge: Morticia elbows Fester and Gomez after Fester makes a comment that could have let Lurch know the harpsichord they just presented to him wasn't the original.
* HeroicBSOD: Lurch falls into depression after hearing that his beloved harpsichord has been promised to a museum. He can't think of anything else, despite the others' attempts to help him find some new hobby.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Mr. Belmont talks the Addamses into giving up the harpsichord under false pretenses, with the idea of selling it to the museum himself and making a lot of money off it. He ends up getting the duplicate Gomez and Fester made for Lurch and being arrested for fraud when he tries to sell it to the museum.
* NotSoStoic: The normally phlegmatic Lurch cries more than once over losing the harpsichord.
* PlatonicDeclarationOfLove: Morticia tells Lurch the whole family loves him when she's trying to convince him to stay. Of course, Uncle Fester has to butt in and say he more ''likes'' Lurch than loves him.
