Inside, they encounter local rich girl Rose Von Straussen bullying the shopkeeper's youngest daughter. After shopkeeper Matthew Talbot deals with Rose, the angry girl and her younger brother Konrad confront Rusty and Sam outside. Some harsh words are exchanged and Rusty is challenged to a pinball game by Rose after he brags about his skills.
