* AnimatedAdaptation: This episode was loosely based on issue 67 of the ''Legends''' ''ComicBook/StarWarsRepublic'' comic series, with Ahsoka taking the place of an older Padawan, whom Anakin had a crush on, in order to raise the stakes. Unlike Ahsoka in this episode, she didn't make it.

* HeroicSacrifice: Subverted. After the Geonosians take the bombs, Ahsoka and Barriss use a hijacked tank to destroy the power generator, which blows up right next to them and then the whole building comes crushing down on them. However, they manage to survive due to the tank's extremely strong shield.

* DisneyVillainDeath: As it turns out, this is how the seemingly unstoppable Super Tanks go down. While their armor ''is'' durable their main defense lies in their incredibly strong Ray Shielding protecting them from any form of blaster, including artillery cannons. It does ''not'' however protect the tank from kinetic damage. Anakin and Luminara collapsing the bridge beneath the tanks causes all of them to plummet down into the canyon. Unusually for this trope, the point where the tanks impact the ground can be seen briefly in the form of explosions, presumably from the gas reserves used for ammunition rupturing.

* KilledMidSentence: Poggle's tactical droid is blown up in the middle of gloating about the durability of the super-tanks, failing to take into consideration the fact that it isn't nearly so impervious to bombs.

* CallForward: Luminara tries to counsel Anakin to be prepared for the worst if Ahsoka (and Barriss) die during the mission. His refusal to do so is admirable (since it does help save her), but it's also the exact issue, when concerning Padmé, that ultimately leads to [[Film/RevengeOfTheSith Anakin's turn to the Dark Side]].
