* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Keito's minions were originally the presidents of the Classical Literature, Japansese Tea-Ceremony Club and Yaoi Manga Club before the Security Committee deemed them threats. With Keito's venom, they were all turned into her slaves, and she intended to do the same with Kurumu if Mizore hadn't stepped in.

As summer vacation has ended, a new term at the academy has started. However, as the Newspaper Club is working on its next edition, this rouses Keito, a member of the powerful and corrupt Security Committee, who is trying to disband the Newspaper Club through competition. Ginei orders the club not to distribute anymore newspapers, telling Tsukune and Kurumu to burn them in the incinerator. The two encounter Keito and her three minions. She attacks them in her jorōgumo form, but the other girls arrive to save them. Tsukune removes the rosary on Moka's neck, and Moka's inner self easily repels the assault, tying Keito and her minions up in their own spiderweb. Nonetheless, the destructive resolve of the Security Committee against the Newspaper Club is strengthened and amplified with just as much ease.

!Tropes for this episode include:
* AbhorrentAdmirer: When their FrenchMaidOutfit fails, the only guy left is a creepy fat guy ogling Yukari. He freaks her out so much she runs away in fear.
* AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil: The Public Security Commission operate less like a council of students meant to maintain order in the student body and more like the {{Yakuza}} treating [[TotalitarianGangsterism Yokai Academy like their own personal police-state]] with no foreseeable oversight from the staff. The reason why they declared war against the Newspaper Club in the first place was because the Club has had a long history of trying to hold them accountable for their corruption.

With Keito's venom, they were all turned into her slaves, and she intended to do the same with Kurumu if Mizore hadn't stepped in.

* StrawmanNewsMedia: While the Newspaper Club's Yokai Gazette is meant to be the kind of paper to hold the powerful accountable (like the Security Committee), the Public Security Committee creates their own paper the Yokai Square in a gambit to run the old paper out of business in order to stamp out what they consider a threat to their authority.
* TwoDecadesBehind: Kurumu was put in charge of the fashion column in the newspaper, basing it around human fashion trends. Unfortunately, she's choosing the GyaruGirl look that went in and out of style in TheNineties.
