* StaticRoleExchangeableCharacter: Dr. Lopez plays the same narrative role as Dr. Wong from the corresponding RM episode. Seeing as Dr. Lopez is TheGhost in ''The Loud House'', this trope nearly borders on [[CanonCharacterAllAlong]].

----
* AdaptationalContextChange:
** The Louds make Rick promise to be more open and honest about his and their personal issues, as opposed to Rick and Beth simply waving off Dr. Wong's advice to go drinking.
** Again, the rat suit and Jaguar plot is cut off, and Rick doesn't do anything for much of the story, other than insulting Sue.
** The whole plot kicks off because Lisa wanted to prolong Pop-pop's life with Rick's help. He declines, and it plays out just the same. Lisa also replaces Lincoln while carrying Pickle Rick around.
* AdaptedOut: Half of "Pickle Rick" has been cut off, like Rick building an exoskeleton out of rats he kills, or the team-up with Jaguar, in favor of a retelling of "The Old and the Restless", and Pickle Rick simply doesn't have too much of a role other than being Albert's immobile pocket crutch, and somebody who scares off Sue.
* ContinuityNod: Lincoln lambasts Rick about him turning himself into a pickle rather than help find Lynn, who ran away a couple episodes ago.
* PrecisionFStrike: PlayedWith. When Pickle Rick tries to scare Sue off again, Sue smugly reveals that she knows who he is, prompting a deadpan Rick to instead exclaim his grandson's catchphrase "dang it" instead of cursing like he always does.
* ShoutOut: Albert refers to Pickle Rick as "the funniest thing" I've ever seen", referring to how fans jokingly and memetically refer to Pickle Rick as such.
* StaticRoleInterchangeableCharacter: Dr. Lopez plays the same narrative role as Dr. Wong from the corresponding RM episode. Seeing as Dr. Lopez is TheGhost in ''The Loud House'', this trope nearly borders on CanonCharacter AllAlong.
** Lisa and Rick replace Lincoln as the ones who take care of Albert at the retirement place, but the plot pretty much is the same.
* TakeThat: The chapter pokes fun at the MemeticMutation that centered around Pickle Rick and how hilarious he is, by having Luan mock Rick for his turning himself into a pickle and screaming his name out loud.
