This is no longer a trope.

* OffModel: A deliberate example. As the scene transforms from her singing in "current time" to her posing ready for the past fight to begin, the scar is still visible, making it look like the "current" Weiss is actively reliving the past fight. As the fight begins, the scar completely disappears. When she is injured, and has blood running down her left eye, to emphasise this is the injury that causes the scar, the camera looks Weiss directly in the face. The bottom half of the modern scar then starts appearing on her face below the eye, next to the blood, swiftly lengthening like a falling tear until it reaches the full size and appearance of the singing Weiss model. The top half of the scar above the eye is not visible. The blood and lower scar remain next to each other for the rest of the fight. At the end of the fight, the camera directly faces Weiss again, and the blood fades away to reveal the top half of the scar above the eye, returning both Weiss and the audience to the "current" time period, and the end of the song, where Weiss comes back to herself and realises where she really is.

Adding tropes to give the page more content.

Added DiffLines:

* BladeRun: The Knight's blade is so huge and wide that Weiss is able to run along it a few times while fighting.
* DanceBattler: The trailer introduces Weiss's fighting style; she uses ballet moves and ice to fight like a trained figure skater.
* ElementalWeapon: The weapon is designed to be able to channel Dust. When the revolving chamber is full, the weapon can produce a variety of elemental effects, such as ice or fire.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Weiss's defeat of the White Knight becomes very important for her fighting abilities in the main show.
* InstantRunes: The White Trailer introduces Weiss's ability to produce circles of glyphs that she can use as platforms, to bounce off, and to increase her speed.
* OneHandedZweihander: The Knight is using a two-handed sword that is easily as big as it is. While it sometimes fights two-handed, it spends most of the fight using the weapon one-handed to make itself more effective at keeping up with Weiss's speed.

Added DiffLines:

* RoyalRapier: Weiss's weapon is introduced here, a rapier that has a revolving Dust chamber, and which possesses elegant glyphs carved into the hilt and blade.

Added DiffLines:

* SwordAndFist: The Knight isn't limited to fighting with just a sword. Weiss ends up so focussed on his sword that she neglects his other weapons and punched to the ground by his armoured fist. Her eye is left scarred by his armoured punch, not by the sword.

Added DiffLines:

* WholeEpisodeFlashback: Weiss is singing to an audience, and sports a faint scar over her left eye. While she sings, she thinks back to the fight the caused the scar. She's so absorbed in the memory that, at the end of the trailer, she has to take a moment to remember where she is.

* WeirdMoon: This trailer is the first one to establish that Remnant's moon is broken (it was whole in the Red Trailer). When Weiss rises in the air, mimicking the moment in the Red Trailer where Ruby does the same, the moon is clearly broken on the right-hand side.

Recap pages can't be troped in hindsight with reference to future episodes/trailers/events. It was the second trailer and therefore this trope was never in effect. This trope can be added to the main work page, but doesn't belong here.

* SomethingCompletelyDifferent: Weiss's trailer is very different from the others. The three other trailers focus on physical fights between the subject of the trailer and multiple opponents that occur in public spaces (a forest, a nightclub and a train). The music forms part of the mood and background but is otherwise separate from the three girls who are fighting. However, Weiss actually spends her trailer standing on a wide, empty stage singing the trailer's song to a packed audience. Instead, she reminisces during the song about a fight she had in her past that takes place against a single opponent in a private, tightly enclosed room. While the other three fights take place in circumstances that could be witnessed by others, Weiss's fight seems to be isolated and locked away from the world at large. As a result, in the other three trailers, the purpose of each fight is clear, even if the motives aren't clear. However, the purpose of Weiss's fight is kept mysterious and plays out like a dream-sequence or a distant memory.

It wasn't an ambiguous situation in the trailer at all. It's obvious that, while she's singing to the crowd, she reminiscing about the fight that gave her the scar that's visible on her face while she's singing.

* AmbiguousSituation: Weiss's battle with the Knight is rather surreal, and it's hard to figure if it's supposed to be taken literally (as in Weiss battled a giant Knight at some point), or if the Knight represents an internal battle, or if it acts as a stand-in for someone else (popular theory being Weiss' dad).
* SomethingCompletelyDifferent: Weiss's trailer is very different from the others. Instead of multiple opponents Weiss only has one, instead of background music Weiss herself is singing, and then there is the surreal, otherwordly tone which differs from the straightforward melees of the others.

* OneWomanWail: When Weiss gets punched to the ground by the Knight, and the scene suddenly shifts back to Weiss in real time, standing on the stage and singing. The song changes as Weiss begins a melancholic wail, bowing her head as a broken moon slides out from behind the clouds and bathes her in moonlight. The scene shifts back to the fight and the wail only ends as Weiss staggers back to her feet and faces the Knight again, this time bleeding from a wound across her left eye.
* SadBattleMusic: Weiss's song starts off as she sings a solo in front of a packed auditorium, becoming a full-blown, energetic beat as her fight begins and progresses. However, throughout the fight, her voice carries clearly, singing about being desperately lonely and trying to understand her inner self as she begs to know whether she can turn her heart into stone and run away from all the things about herself that she can see. Why she's fighting isn't clear, but she's remembering the fight as she sings on the stage and how it left her with the scar that's visible as she sings.
