* BaitAndSwitch: Previous episodes implied that Yang was looking for Raven to answer personal questions instead of going after Ruby. This episode reveals that Yang is prioritising Ruby over Raven, after all. When Yang reaches Raven, she doesn't care what Raven has to say; because she doesn't know where in Anima Ruby currently is -- but does know she's with Qrow -- Yang merely wants access to Raven's Semblance, which can teleport her straight to Qrow.

* BigDamnReunion: Completely averted with Yang and Raven's meeting. Despite having spent many years looking for her mother Yang doesn't show any enthusiam upon finally finding her or willingness to reconnect with her. Raven on the other hand tries to welcome and congratulâtes Yang but her cavalier comment about Yang finally deciding to visit her, despite the fact that it was her who chose to leave and to not be a part of her daughter's life,only causes Yang to be angered; and the theatrical tone she speaks with and contradictions in her speech imply that she was trying to emotionally manipulate her daughter into joining the tribe. Once Yang reveals that she's here to find Ruby Raven immediatly drops any semblance of warmness.

While she initially played the 'visiting family' card, Qrow dismissed it because Raven does not casually visit family -- she only visits family when she wants something from them.
