N vanishes into the fog along with Anthea and Concordia, and Ash and co. find themselves within viewing distance of Dragonspiral Tower, so they stop for lunch before moving on. Back at Team Plasma's lab, Colress is perfecting his device when Team Rocket appears and leads the Team Plasma grunts away and into a trap so they can persuade Colress to come work for them. However, Colress is more interested in Meowth and testing his device on a talking Pokémon. Although Meowth tries a focus technique to resist the mind control, Colress turns it up to maximum power and succeeds in brainwashing him, turning him against Jessie and James. Meanwhile, our heroes' lunch break ends but Ash notices that Pignite isn't eating because it doesn't feel well. It turns out that Pignite has something stuck in its nose, so Ash and his friends try everything to get it out.
