Before their arrival to Fillydelphia City, Flash and his group have to help a ditzy girl named Derpy recover a case stolen by Scampie.

* BefriendingTheEnemy: When Derpy beats the Pitchawk and reclaims her case, she still tries talking to the defeated Pokémon, convincing it that she needs the case to power Fillydelphia City. The appeal works and the Pitchawk ends up accompanying Derpy.
* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: For most of the chapter, the Scampie serve as the primary antagonist, until a Pitchawk shows up out of nowhere once the Scampie are defeated, in which it steals Derpy's case and becomes the final threat that needs to be defeated.
* InelegantBlubbering: When her case is stolen, Derpy realizes that she is going to fail her first job and starts sobbing uncontrollably.
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: As Derpy tells the group that she's going to return to base after her accomplished job, Flash half-jokingly tells her that she better leave out the part of how it was stolen en route. The rest of the group laughingly agrees.
* NaiveNewcomer: Being a mail courier is Derpy's first ever job and she's just as ditzy as in canon.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Even though she delivers the case to the relay station late, the man in charge is pretty cool about it, glad that Fillydelphia will at least stay powered.
* StickyFingers: According to Doc, the Scampie are known to steal shiny items from humans, which explains why they went after Derpy's case.
