* BerserkButton: Trixie presses Twilight's when she not only disturbs the silence of the library with her performance outside, she says how the books are not important and that if she burned the library to the ground the world would be better off.
* BrokenWinLossStreak: Twilight has had a very bad battle record up to this point in the series. But, her defeating Trixie marks her first true victory.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Trixie has her Wizentice use Power Trap on Owlicious, causing him to only be able to use Calm Mind, which was useless to him at the time. But after it wore off, Owlicious learned Confusion, a move that was already super effective against Wizentice, but was even stronger because of all the Calm Minds Owlicious was forced to use, quickly leading to Wizentice's defeat.

* MundaneUtility: Trixie has her Wizentice incorporate its Teleport move into her magic show.
* OhCrap: Trixie's reaction to Owlicious learning Confusion, which is now massively powered up by multiple Calm Minds, is to nervously suggest to Twilight they call the battle a draw. Twilight of course refuses.
* SmokeOut: Trixie does this when saying goodbye to Twilight and the others. But just like in canon it doesn't last long enough for her to actually leave.

Before leaving Bales Town, Twilight decides to ''finally'' visit the Bales Town Library. Unfortunately, a boastful trainer named Trixie happens to be performing a magic show right outside the library that very day. When the noise disrupts the library, Twilight snaps and challenges Trixie to a battle to make her move her show away from the library.
