The Pawnee city council is voting on whether to re-zone the Newport land for commercial use. If the consensus of the council is "yes", then Gryzzl will gain the rights to build a campus on the land, but if the consensus is "no", then the National Parks Service will acquire the land by default. To Leslie's dismay however, her old nemesis Jeremy Jamm holds the deciding vote. When she meets with Jamm again, she sees the man has been reduced to a shell of his former self thanks to his girlfriend, Tammy 2, forcing him to become a clone of Ron. Taking pity on him, Leslie enlists Ron's help to break Jamm free of Tammy's clutches.

April finds herself at a crossroads, realizing her work at the Parks Department hasn't been fulfilling her. Ben offers to help her find her passion in life.

Tom is successful, but he doesn't feel content as a single bachelor. When Andy recommends he get back in touch with his ex Lucy, the two travel to Chicago to find her.

Leslie resolves to break up Jamm and Tammy, but she can't do it alone as Jamm is completely domineered by Tammy, whose efforts to turn
him to become into a clone of Ron. Taking pity on him, Ron have reduced him into a sad broken shell of a man. Leslie enlists approaches Ron and calls for a temporary truce, and despite initially being wary, he agrees to help Leslie after seeing just how damaged Jamm has become. The pair take Jamm to Ron's help cabin in the woods and put him through a number of Ron's "Tammy deprogramming" exercises to break Jamm free of from Tammy's clutches.

April finds herself at attend a crossroads, realizing Pawnee "Walk of Fame" inductee ceremony to honor Joan Callamezzo, who has all but lost her mind over the last few years. Joan delivers a speech about how her career of being on TV is what she truly loves and always wanted to do, and says there's no point in doing work at you don't love doing. The speech hits close to home for April, who comes to the Parks Department hasn't conclusion that her parks-related work over the last eight years has never truly been fulfilling her. Ben offers to help her find her passion and questions her purpose in life.

Tom Tom's restaurant is successful, but he doesn't feel content as a single bachelor. When Andy recommends he get back in touch with his ex Lucy, the two travel to Chicago to find her.

April confides in Ben about her career crossroads and he offers to help her find a career she'll love. He asks her what her childhood dream job was, and April takes Ben to the mortuary. However, April is disappointed to find out that even working in a mortuary consists of doing paperwork. April feels discouraged and lost, but Ben comforts her by explaining that one disappointment should not stop her in her quest to find her calling.

Andy and Tom find Lucy soon after arriving in Chicago. After spending the day with her, Tom deduces that she could be the one, but he considers how it would work between them with Lucy living in a different city. He decides to ask her to move back to Pawnee under the guise of working for him as his company manager. She quickly agrees to the move but Tom is taken aback when he finds out Lucy already has a boyfriend. Nevertheless, Andy has high hopes for Tom and Lucy to get back together.

Leslie and Ron take Jamm to the Pawnee Library so he can break up with Tammy. Tammy sees what's going on, and attempts to bribe Leslie with making Jamm vote on her behalf. Despite the temptation, Leslie immediately rejects the offer. Jamm successfully breaks up with Tammy, even resisting the urge to have sex with her after Tammy gets naked in front of the trio.

The next day, Jamm informs both Leslie and Ron that he will be abstaining from the vote as he won't take sides between the two following their helping him break free of Tammy. His decision thus leaves the vote locked at 2–2. Despite a disappointing result, Leslie and Ron share a solemn moment with one another. Ron admits that he thought it was big of Leslie to not bend at Tammy's bribe, while Leslie extends her gratitude to Ron for helping her. The two then part ways as enemies once again.
