* DisproportionateRetribution: [[spoiler:A cop's widow]] had a judge's wife killed because the judge sentenced [[spoiler:her husband's killer]] to life rather than death. Doubles as MisplacedRetribution, as the woman seems to have displaced much of her anger for the killer onto the judge, even seeming to attribute the damage that her husband's death caused to her family to the sentence rather than to the actual murder (apparently not realizing that a lot of the things she talks about -- specifically, the mountain of appeals the murderer has filed -- would have also happened with a death sentence).

* HollywoodLaw: In-universe, the perpetrator seems to believe
that a lot of the things she talks about her family's ordeal -- specifically, the mountain of multiple appeals the murderer has and request for a new trial filed by her husband's killer -- is entirely attributable to the fact that said killer was given a life sentence rather than the death penalty, seemingly thinking that if the death sentence had been given, he'd be dead and no longer around to bother her. In reality, the death penalty process usually takes decades and also involves numerous appeals, so it's likely that she would have also happened with endured a death sentence).similar process regardless of the sentence. Potentially justified as it's suggested she's just looking for someone to blame for her family's troubles and this particular aspect provided a convenient target.
