This may bear some resemblance to those whose country have their fair share of dark history. On a lighter note, Smolder convincing Ocellus that changelings can indeed change their ways reflects how people can move on from their past.

* UncannyValley: The Tree of Harmony's projection of Twilight speaks in a mechanical, stilted manner, and is first seen with a wide-eyed, overly-friendly smile.

* DysfunctionJunction: Cozy Glow invokes this by mentioning that each of the Young Six (minus Sandbar) have something that (supposedly) makes it harder for them to make friends. Silverstream's people had to hide from the Storm King, Ocellus's people were previously love-eating monsters, Yona comes from a warrior race, Gallus's race is rather misanthropic, and Smolder is from an antisocial race of dragons who aren't keen on [[TastesLikeDiabetes cutesy stuff]] like ponies are.

* SlasherSmile: a brief one (possibly as a FreezeFrameBonus) [[https://derpibooru.org/1814420?q=slasher+smile from Silverstream to Cozy Glow]]. It's not meant to be menacing, but her tiredness combined with her excitable nature ends up with her flashing one.

But if Silverstream's fear of the Storm King returning and going back into hiding is any indication, that "safety" came at a high cost of the younger generation feeling ''trapped'' in Seaquestria.

After explaining what happened, they realize they have forgotten about the actual test, but Cozy Glow says that she will tell Twilight they were helping her sort books all night, and get an extension for them. They thank Cozy as they collapse into sleep from their adventure. Cozy Glow looks over the ground, and then to the grate, telling them she will take care of everything.
