* DespairGambit: Chrysalis plans to break Starlight's spirit by making her think her friends have turned against her. It fails spectacularly; while some of the Mane Six are disturbed by their friends' doppelgangers' actions, Starlight only gets mildly confused.

It fails spectacularly; while some at least one of the Mane Six are disturbed by their friends' doppelgangers' actions, doppelgangers succeeds at making Starlight only gets mildly confused.cry, the collective doppelgangers are so horrible at teamwork and listening to Chrysalis that it leads to the whole plan backfiring.

* HateSink: Among the Mean Six, Mean Applejack and Mean Fluttershy are easily the most unpleasant. Not to mention they respectively insult Starlight and scapegoat Fluttershy. Even Queen Chrysalis is fed up with them out of her new lackeys -- particularly Mean Applejack for her endless strings of lies.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: Chrysalis's plan to steal the Elements of Harmony is rather thin on details. Firstly, she has no idea where the Elements are specifically being kept -- she knows they're somewhere in the Everfree Forest, but as Mean Twilight points out, "it's a big forest." Only a stroke of blind luck solves this issue. Secondly, Chrysalis doesn't know how to use the Elements, she just knows they are attuned to the Mane Six somehow, and assumes her knockoffs will be able to wield them. As it turns out, they aren't, as the Tree sees right though the façade and destroys them. Finally, she believes the Mean Six will be as obedient to her as her hive once was, but finds she can barely control them, with the group ultimately rebelling against her.
* DissensionRemorse: The Mane Six's camping trip almost becomes a disaster when they start resenting each other thanks to all the misunderstandings caused by their clones; luckily, Twilight manages to resolve the argument, and the ponies begin to tearfully reconcile over whatever problem they encountered, and they happily resume their trip.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Chrysalis very nearly avoids this trope. When she discovers Mean Twilight's treachery, she attacks her creation only to find out that the latter -- being Twilight copy, up to and including her magical powers -- is stronger than her and quickly gains the advantage. It could have ended badly for Chrissy, hadn't the Tree of Harmony interfered and offed the doppelganger.

Added DiffLines:

* HypercompetentSidekick: Mean Twilight turns out to be much smarter than Chrysalis, instantly pointing out obvious flaws in her plan, coming up with far more reasonable ideas such as dividing the party in order to cover more ground and finding out the location of the Elements basically on her own, all while plotting behind her "queen's" back -- and very nearly overthrowing her, since she is revealed to be more powerful than Chrysalis as well. Considering who she's a clone of, it actually makes a lot of sense.

* BlatantLies: Exaggerated. Mean Applejack's lies arent's as much "blatant" as they're "utterly insane". At one point, she claims that missing Chrysalis' minions are at the "secret party up in that there tree" held by a "squirrel named Jerome" (remember -- the party password is "rutabaga"...) and when the Mean Six find the Mane Six campsite, she calls it "badger installation art".

* AxCrazy: Although none of the Mean Six aren't exactly sane, Mean Rarity is definitely the most psychotic, spending most of her screentime giggling maniacally, making weird facial expressions, hoarding things that are often of zero value (like rocks or twigs) and acting overly aggressive and loud when she thinks someone intends to take them away from her.
