* AdjustingYourGlasses: As a bespectacled unicorn, Moondancer adjusts her slipping glasses with her magic or her hooves.

* StrongFamilyResemblance: Like Moondancer, her [[NoNameGiven unnamed]] sister has {{messy|Hair}} red hair with a SkunkStripe and BigOlEyebrows. It makes you wonder if [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS5E7MakeNewFriendsButKeepDiscord Tree Hugger]] is related to them.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: When Twilight is happy about being able to apologize to everyone at once, Spike snarks "Let's hope they're not all as traumatized as Minuette". Turns out one former friend ''was'' traumatized by Twilight's sudden disappearance.

* CatharticCrying: Moondancer's sour attitude is the result of her lingering hurt and anger towards Twilight's absence from the party. When Twilight throws another party as an apology to her, Moondancer doesn't take this well and starts ranting about how much she wanted to make friends and how much Twilight hurt her when she didn't come to the first party. After she finishes ranting, Moondancer has a hearty fit of crying before she calms down and accepts Twilight's apology as well as her words of wisdom.

* MythologyGag: Moondancer refers to Twilight as "Twilight Twinkle", a member of the G3 ''My Little Pony'' cast that influenced Twilight's design. That was even Twilight Sparkle's name on early scripts for the show.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: What kicks off the episode when Spike makes a comment on how anti-social Twilight was before coming to Ponyville and never trying to make friends in Cantorlot making her realize this and try to reconnect with her original friends. Twilight gets it again later upon finding out Moondancer became the way she was due to her blowing off a party just as Moondancer was starting to open up to everypony.
