* ComedicSociopathy: No, it's ''not'' Pinkie Pie that exhibits it. It's her friends, and especially Applejack and Spike. Applejack is blind to how upset Pinkie Pie is, single-mindedly guarding the secret of the surprise party to the point of ''slamming her face in a door''. Spike, on the other hand, is oblivious to Pinkie's anger and sadness, blinded by a bowlful of gems. But really, all the girls should have had, and failed to have, some awareness that they were hurting Pinkie more than the surprise of the surprise party was worth.
** Although it doesn't make their lack of awareness any more justified, Pinkie did learn [[AnAesop the aesop]] in the end to not expect the worst from the people closest to her. If all this misunderstanding didn't happen, she might've still been insecure to the point of throwing parties as a means for social validation.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Spike has no clue about what he's being interrogated for or about, nor does he get one at any point. Ironically, this means he ends up frustrating Pinkie Pie with the same kind of literal-minded, cluelessly irrelevant answers you'd expect from her in a similar situation -- and ends up chowing down on a plateful of gems, even though he never gives her any useful information whatsoever.
