* ChekhovsHobby: [[Recap/MyHeroAcademiaS3E6RoaringUpheaval Remember when the crazy girl Toga extracted some of Uraraka's blood when her group attacked the training camp?]] It turns out that this is part of her Transform Quirk, which allows her to shapeshift into anyone after ingesting their blood. The disguise is reduced to sludge when the effect wears off and it is implied she did the same with the ''real'' Camie.

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Bakugo displays some Momo Yaoyoruzu-level analysis, logic and deduction that leads to his correct conclusion that Midoriya inherited All Might's power, based from the corrorelating events between the two, All for One's own power and what he did to Ragdoll that rendered her Quirkless and out of a job similar to All Might, showing that Quirk theft and transferral is completely possible, and he noticed that Midoriya had a completely different reaction to All Might's "now, it's your turn" public message compared to the mass public cheering him on thinking he was threatening villains and criminals, but realised that this was specifically meant for Midoriya to let him know that it's now his turn to carry the torch.

All the 1-A students except Todoroki and Bakugo pass the provisional license exam. Inasa, who also failed, apologizes to Todoroki, who acknowledges that he was also working through some issues during the test. Mera implores the passers to use their authority wisely in a post-All Might age, and informs those who failed that they can be issued licenses following a three-month remedial class. The students head home.

All Might visits All For One in prison. All For One tells All Might that the reason he's grooming a successor is because All Might damaged him so badly that his dream of unending evil became finite, and taunts him with the increasing instability of the hero-focused society following his retirement. All Might firmly says that All For One's vision will not come to pass, and his spirits are raised by Midoriya reporting that he passed the exam.

* ThrowTheDogABone: Todoroki and Inasa fail the exam due to infighting at a moment of crisis, while Bakugo fails because of his HairTriggerTemper. Luckily, they, among the other failed applicants of the rescue phase, are given a chance to try again after doing a remedial course. Justified as Japan needs more heroes than ever now than villain activity has increased due to All Might's absence.

* CallBack: Bakugou refers to several past events that lead him to conclude that Midoriya's Quirk is All Might's.
* ForTheEvulz: According to All For One, his motivation was simply to be evil.
* MeaningfulName: Tartarus, the ExtranormalPrison for dangerous villains, named for the Greek equivalent of hell. All for One lampshades that it's well-named since even he would have some difficulty getting out.
* TheReveal: Toga had been impersonating Camie over the course of the exam.
