In the Lorraines' kitchen, the Lorraine kids, T.D., and Martha are listening to a song. Martha and Jake enjoy it, but Helen and T.D. feel it's annoying and too popular. Even though Helen and T.D. are trying to write a report (T.D.'s is on Belgium), Martha convinces them to let her play the song (called "Sheky the Sea Lion") one more time. Truman enters and reveals that he enjoys the song too. T.D. shuts the song off, so Truman asks what his problem with it is. T.D. says that he just doesn't understand the hype, and feels he could write a better song. He then decides to do just that, forming a "rock band" with his friends.
He and Carolina find a ukulele in the attic, Truman finds a synthesiser, Helen finds a drum kit, and Martha finds drumsticks and is given a microphone along with Carolina. Then, the band has their first practice session, but T.D.'s friends point out that they can't play without any song. T.D. can't think of a song, so his friends give him advice to find inspiration -- Martha suggests eating dog food, but T.D. apparently gave that up in second grade, then Carolina suggests chewing gum, but T.D. doesn't want to, then Helen suggests thinking on his own, so he decides to do that.
He goes for a walk around town, then when he sees a waffle, he gets an idea: write the song about Belgium (where waffles were invented). He tells his friends, but Carolina thinks Belgium is a boring country due to its size and obscurity. Helen points out that the rest of them don't know much about Belgium, but T.D. reveals that he's composing the lyrics. After a practice session, the kids decide that they need an audience.
They play it to the babies at Truman's mother's daycare and they seem to enjoy it, but, being babies, they ask it to be played again and again until the band grows bored. When a girl in the audience says, "Again!" for the fifth time, Martha suggests singing something else, but T.D. points out that they've only written one song. Thus, T.D.'s bandmates leave, so he tries to sing it to them alone, but the babies lose interest. The older kids and Martha quickly start to miss being in a band, so they decide to do another concert and show the whole neighbourhood.
That night, the band performs a cover of "Sheky the Sea Lion", then performs their Belgium song (which T.D. names simply "Belgium") again.
