He says it's because he's her father and he loves her, and she coldly states, [[LoveIsAWeakness "Love is for suckers."]] At the end of the episode, the father is imprisoned, while April and her mother escape to Florida, having abandoned their newborn daughter/granddaughter as soon as she was no longer useful. Thankfully, the baby's father steps in to raise her.
