Gordon Ramsay continues his travels across the United States in a bid to save failing restaurants from disaster. This week, Gordon visits beachside restaurant Barefoot Bob's in Hull, Massachusetts, owned by husband-and-wife team Marc and Lisa. The duo opened the grill in the summer of 2004 to a busy seafront crowd, but every year the bottom line collapses through the bleak winter months.

summer fun stops.

* DownerEnding: The ending made it look as if the restaurant would survive - Ramsay had gotten the couple running the restaurant back together, got the attention of the restaurant to the town, and remodeled the restaurant to remove the tacky tiki theme. However, the bar manager Robby hates the new decor, which causes a small fuss between him and Ramsay, although the relaunch ultimately goes well. Eventually, they went back to their old menu and decor, which caused the reviews to go down. The restaurant managed to stay open until December 2016.

* HypocriticalHumor: The episode has Gordon bemused by the presence of a fortune teller at the restaurant; initially mocking her, he proceeds to ask for a reading from the woman using her cards, and she predicts that the owners - who were a husband and wife pair struggling to keep their marriage afloat due to the restaurant's problems - will end up splitting apart. Not only does the show insert [[ViewersAreGoldfish a sudden musical sting]] to make viewers take this entirely seriously, Gordon himself looks concerned by this.

* MundaneObjectAmazement: When Ramsay learns that the owners don't even know their own finances, he brings in an accountant to help. One owner becomes absolutely giddy and even remarks that she's probably the only person ever to get excited about seeing an accountant.
