Lt. Commander Ridley (Creator/GabrielOlds) killed British soldiers in what he claims was "friendly fire." Commander Turner (Creator/ScottLawrence) defends. Lt. Colonel [=MacKenzie=] and Lt. Roberts prosecute. Commander Rabb gets his turn as a temporary judge, Petty Officer Coates (Creator/ZoeMcLellan) is his clerk.

* ExactWords, LoopholeAbuse: Rabb and Coates realize that both prosecution and defense have missed evidence which would give the defense a crucial edge in showing reasonable doubt. However, the rules forbid a judge's interference that is not in the scope of his duties. However when Rabb realizes the rules only prohibit him from giving advantageous help to the side which would gain the advantage. So he nudges the prosecution to look over where he found the evidence. Upon discovering it, they must give it to the defense. And with that, the case is over.
* RippedFromTheHeadlines: This episode, which first aired on February 11, 2003, was based on an incident that took place on April 17 of the previous year. An U. S. Air Force pilot dropped a bomb on Canadian forces at Tarnak Farms, in Afghanistan.
