[[folder:'''Long Arikured Arc Summary''']]
Iruma starts the day recapping his current situation. That he's a 14-year-old boy who was one day sold off by his idiot parents. This turned out to be a good thing as his new guardian, Sullivan, kindly spoiled him as the grandson the demon always wanted, and even enrolled him into a school. However, that came with a problem. In the present, Iruma remains frightened as he attends class at Babyls High in the demon netherworld. He remains surrounded by seemingly dangeorus demons, but at the very least, is accompanied by his two best demon friends, Azz and Clara.
\\\
Iruma and company are currently attending a class to learn Transfiguration Magic from the Fundamentals of Magic teacher, Morax Momonoki. Said teacher pulls out a jar with a frog within it, and looks for a student to attempt transfiguration upon it. She winds up calling upon Iruma, who takes his place in front of the jar. Morax explains that he just has to say "Transform" to perform the incantation. In return, Iruma sets his Ring of Gluttony to its lowest Devil setting believing it will keep the ring from going haywire. He then throws his hands forward towards the frog jar while yelling transform. The result is the frog changing to a black color, which Morax congratulates Iruma for. Iruma then returns to his seat as Azz and Clara congratulate his efforts.
\\\
After class, Iruma thinks over how he's been getting through his classes thanks to the ring that's been filled with Sullivan's incredible magic power. Iruma is satisfied that he's getting used to using the rings for spell as Azz and Clara race ahead to eat lunch. Before Iruma could catch up, the ring spirit finally makes its reappearance much to Iruma's shock. Iruma freaks out waving his ring hand back-and-forth trying to get the spirit to sleep again as everyone watches in confusion. He then quickly realizes that it's the same spirit that popped out when he was first given the ring after the Flying Race, and went crazy due to it's lack of magic power. However, Iruma remains confused as to why it's suddenly popping out all of a sudden when Sullivan provided the ring some new magic recently. The spirit answers that it's not currently hungry while Iruma is thinking that his best option is to go to the chairman's office. However, he suddenly becomes even more confused upon realizing that the ring spirit actually talks.
\\\
Iruma and the ring spirit look at one another in stunned silence until the spirit yells out in surprise that he's actually able to talk. The spirit continues to act up confused as to what's going on as Iruma tries to get it to calm down. Seeing the demon students nearby wondering what's going on, Iruma runs off to the empty 3rd Back Room of the school to get a handle on the situation. Upon hearing Iruma's explanation, the spirit is surprised to hear that he's the avatar for the Ring of Gluttony. Iruma admits that he doesn't get why this is happening, which the spirit gets excited believing that its voice and feelings must have taken shape. It calls Iruma its master, and states that it's got a lot of questions to ask said master. However, the spirit first scolds Iruma for using magic in an unacceptable and messy manner.
\\\
It questions why Iruma hasn't been gentle with it, such as when Iruma made it eat a load of mana only to puke it all up later (referring to when Iruma used the emergency Pandora mode during the Battler Party). The spirit then warns Iruma that he won't let Iruma use magic if it continues to treat it roughly much to Iruma's shock. Deciding to give Iruma a bit of a lesson, the spirit explains that magic is what turns imagination into reality. That the source lies in one's desire. It reminds Iruma of the recent transfiguration class where Iruma was able to turn a frog black because it's what Iruma was imagining at the time. In return, Iruma catches on that a similar thing happened in Stolas Suzy's demon world biology class when he thought about a Sakura Tree during the "Quan Quan" incantation. With the lesson done, the spirit orders Iruma to change the former's shape. It also orders Iruma to give it cool features, which Iruma goes along with.
\\\
Thinking of a form, Iruma casts the "Transform" incantation on the spirit. The result is the spirit turning into a little humanoid demon with one large eye, two long ears, and wearing a classy black suit. It addition, it has a tail that acts as its continued connection to the ring. The spirit takes a look at its new self in a mirror, and then starts pulling at Iruma's hair in anger calling the boy a dimwit minimalist. Iruma tries to apologize, but the spirit quickly moves on from it, and orders Iruma to now cast a spell on himself. Sure enough, Iruma's able to "Transform" the color of his school uniform to white. However, the spirit finds that too simple, and orders Iruma to change into a completely different outfit. The result is Iruma showing that he can "Transform" between different sets of clothing. The spirit becomes impressed, and next orders Iruma to transform into something he would never choose to wear. Iruma thinks it over, and eventually recalls how he embarrassingly dressed up as a female Akudol recently. He then casts "Transform" and the magic appears to overtake him.
\\\
Meanwhile, Ameri is seen nearby walking down the school hallway, but is shown to be in a distraught state. She thinks over how she got a ticket from her father to see the recent Kuromu concert, but as Ameri was cheering from the audience, she was unable to believe the sight of "Irumi" performing on stage. Thus, Ameri remains confused to whether or not that was actually Iruma. Ameri finds it hard to believe that Iruma, a boy, would actually wear something so frilly and sparkly, and starts to worry if Iruma might actually be a pervert. Iruma tries to reassure herself that Iruma has no reason to act like this, and that "Irumi" was just someone that looked similar to him. At that moment, she notices magic go off in the school's 3rd Back Room, and quickly goes to investigate since people aren't allowed in without permission. Upon opening the door however, she's stunned in shock at the sight of Iruma in a frilly and sparkly Akudol dress due to the "Transform" incantation.
\\\
The confused Ameri asks why Iruma is wearing such girly clothing while refusing to let him near her. Iruma tries to explain that he was just trying to practice magic, and that it was actually his ring teaching him what to do. Unfortunately, Ameri doesn't buy it refusing to believe that rings can talk, which results in her crying that Iruma is a delusional crossdresser. Iruma remains confused as to why the ring spirit has disappeared the moment he needs it to explain, and he's forced to watch the distraught Ameri run away. In the end, Iruma starts to feel gloomy that Ameri now probably views him as a pervert.
\\\
Iruma walks through the school struggling to find Ameri to explain what happened. Eventually, the ring spirit reappears stating that all Iruma has to say to fix the situation is to call it a hobby. Iruma asks where the spirit's been, which it answers that it was just watching from the ring. Iruma then asks why it didn't come out to explain the situation to Ameri, but the spirit answers that it couldn't due to being an unknown entity, and was scared that if people other than Iruma found out about its existence, it would be experimented on. It then points out how Iruma should understand its situation of not wanting to stand out, which Iruma admits he does. Iruma begins to cry in fear that Ameri will now forever view him as a pervert, but the spirit assures him that it won't mind finally revealing itself if people knew of it beforehand. It also adds that it will make a flashy debut once it believes it's safe to go out in public, which makes Iruma happy. He grabs hold of the ring spirit stating that they should do their best by solving the spirit's mysterious past so that the misunderstanding with Ameri can be resolved.
\\\
With their goal set, the ring spirit asks if Iruma has any leads to solving its past, which Iruma admits he does. That "he" will know what's up about the ring. Iruma arrives at the chairman's office, but Iruma is quickly given the bad news from Sullivan that the latter doesn't believe in the ring speaking. That it has no consciousness since it's just a magic tool used for storing mana. Iruma tries desperately to convince his grandfather that he really was speaking to it, but due to the spirit not wanting to reveal itself, Iruma can't show any proof. Thus, Sullivan figures Iruma is just tired, and asks if his grandson wants some milk. Opera then provides Iruma with a cloth, and closes his eyes to make it clear that Iruma needs sleep, which Iruma accepts that his family is just worried about him. Iruma walks away defeated as the spirit comes out again laughing in crying tears at what it just witnessed.
\\\
Iruma next arrives at Babyls' library to search through the books for information on the Ring of Gluttony. He does eventually find information on it, but it's just the same basic information he already knew about it being a magic tool that stores and releases mana, and that there's some variation in the amount of mana that can be retained. Iruma also reads the bit about how the ring creates a fog to absorb all surrounding mana whenever its exhausted all its mana, which is what happened back when Iruma first received the ring, and the spirit went after his classmates to eat their mana. The spirit points out that all it remembers from that time was being really hungry, which surprises Iruma at how little it remembers. Iruma asks if the spirit remembers the creation of the Sakura Tree, or when he activated the ring's Pandora mode to fire off Kirio's firework bomb in the sky, but the spirit answers that it doesn't. That perhaps at the time, it was still a totally witless spirit.
\\\
Iruma then asks when it was exactly that the spirit started gaining consciousness, which the spirit answers that it was back when it first pulled Iruma along to crash into Kirio as that was its way of making it clear to Iruma that such a creepy guy was bad news. The revelation shocks Iruma realizing that this was why his ring hand was suddenly choking Kirio when they first met. The spirit then adds that this is all he remembers, so it doesn't have an exact moment when the consciousness change actually happened. Iruma thinks over all the information provided by the ring spirit, but figures that due to the spirit's hazy memory, it's not enough to go on. Iruma feels defeated that they've hit a dead end looking at pictures he drew in his notework concerning all the big events that happened surrounding his ring. As the spirit dances around the notes, and he sees the line left behind by the spirit's tail connected to the ring, Iruma is suddenly hit with a realization that might explain what's going on.
\\\
Seeing Iruma go back to drawing, the spirit asks what's up. In return, Iruma explains that he's caught on to the timeline surrounding all the ring events that have happened so far. Eventually, Iruma finishes the timeline, which is basically summed up as the spirit was unconscious through Rank 1 (Aleph), the spirit was then conscious but couldn't speak through the Rank 2 (Bet) phase, and once Rank 3 (Gimmel) was achieved, the spirit was now able to talk. Overall, the two realize that the reason the spirit is now able to talk is due to Iruma's rise through the demon rankings. The two become excited with the spirit believing this might be the case since the two of them are inseparable. Iruma also adds that they'll be able to test this because if the rank increasing theory is true, then it means that the spirit will evolve again once Iruma's achieved Rank 4 (Daleth).
\\\
Seeing Iruma being all excited towards solving the mystery, the spirit reminds the boy about the goal of not wanting to stand out, which snaps Iruma back to reality. The pitiful spirit sits on Iruma's nose calling the boy a pushover, but also adds that it's looking forward to what its master does from here on out. Iruma is still unable to get used to being called someone's master, which the spirit decides that he will instead refer to Iruma as "Iru-boy." The spirit then asks for Iruma to call it "Arikured," which grabs Iruma's attention. However, the spirit quickly re-establishes itself that it just wants to be called "Ali" when they're talking casually. As Iruma thinks over how his life has gotten rowdier again, he asks if Ali likes his current form, which it agrees it does.
\\\
Once the day is over, Iruma gets ready for sleep. He happily goes to bed knowing how much of a good thing it is that they've made a step towards solving Ali's secret. However, he eventually jumps up in shock upon remembering that he still hasn't resolved the misunderstanding with Ameri.

!!Short Arikured Arc Summary

Iruma continues to get the hang of using his Ring of Gluttony to cast magic, such as being able to transform the color of a frog during Morax Momonoki's transfiguration class. Shortly after, the spirit of the ring finally makes its reappearance much to Iruma's confusion, and it's even more of a surprise when it turns out that the spirit can actually speak now. Iruma goes to hide in one of the school's empty Back Rooms to get a handle of the situation, which the spirit scolds Iruma for using the ring's magic rather poorly up to this point.

Providing Iruma with a bit of a lesson that all magic is based on imagination, the spirit asks for Iruma to think up a body for it using the same transformation magic from Morax's class. As a result, Iruma's imagination turns the ring spirit into a small one-eyed humanoid demon in a classy suit, which it accepts. The spirit then provides Iruma a bit of a test where the boy has to cast the transformation spell on himself in order to change into different sets of clothing. The toughest one being to transform into clothing that Iruma would never choose to wear. Meanwhile, Ameri's been distraught over the sight of seeing "Irumi" during the Kuromu concert, and wonders if Iruma is actually a pervert. She investigates the Back Room upon seeing magic cast within it, and is left shocked in disbelief at the sight of Iruma now wearing a female Akudol outfit.

Due to the ring spirit wanting to stay hidden, the shocked Ameri runs off unable to process what she just saw. The spirit explains that it's scared to reveal itself at the moment due to how unknown its life is, and points out that Iruma should understand what it feels like to not want to stand out, which he admits he does. However, the spirit states that it will gladly show itself once it knows what it actually is, which sets Iruma off on a quest to discover the past of his Ring of Gluttony spirit. Unfortunately, he comes up empty speaking to Sullivan, and looking through the school library, as no one seems to believe that a spirit is housed within the ring.

Having to do things himself, Iruma uses the bits of information of what the spirit remembers to form a timeline of when it started becoming conscious. The two of them soon realize that the spirit's evolution is actually connected to Iruma's rise through the demon rankings where the spirit remained unconscious at Rank 1 (Aleph), became conscious but couldn't speak at Rank 2 (Bet), and was finally able to speak once Iruma had achieved Rank 3 (Gimmel). As a result, Iruma becomes excited at what the spirit's next evolution will be once Rank 4 (Daleth) is achieved, even though going this route will require him to stand out again. Knowing that they're going to be in this long journey together, the spirit asks for Iruma to call him Ali, short for "Arikured," from now on. In the end, despite being happy that he solved a part of the Ali-mystery, Iruma eventually realizes that he still hasn't cleared up the misunderstanding with Ameri.
