[[folder:'''Long Ameri Azazel Arc Summary''']]
Continuing to get used to his new life in the demon world, Iruma decides once more to try not to stand out in front of the demons. However, he struggles to do so due to the efforts of Sullivan and Opera, such as providing the boy a grand entrance to school by carriage transport. Sullivan also provides Iruma with a new phone in order for his grandson to stay in contact. Iruma then meets up with Azu and Clara, and the three head off to the school's Greenhouse Tower for today's demon biology class. The staff's Head of Demonic Biology, Stolas Suzy, serves as the teacher. Suzy explains today's magic lesson to her students, which is to make a potted seed bloom into a flower utilizing their magic power by saying the spell-casting words, "Kuan Kuan." The key being to visualize in their head the magic they want to use to make the flower grow, which Iruma is glad to know he won't stand out since his lack of magic will not cause the plant to grow anyway.
\\\
Iruma then notices that other students are watching their class, which Azu explains that upperclassmen have started to scout the first-year demons now that they've been given their ranks. The upperclassmen watching Iruma's class turns out to be members of the school's Student Council. One of which, a scary looking male, Iruma assumes to be the Student Council President. Meanwhile in class, Sabnock (revealed to have been given Rank 2 (Gimel) as his first ranking) figures that the student council is here to scout him. He shows off the flower he provided his magic to, which turns out to be a dangerous looking flower he dubs the "God of Destruction." Unfortunately, Suzy only gives him a B+ grade for the flower. Asmodeus is the next to show off his flower, which turned into a rare Burning Flower. Suzy gives him an A+ grade much to Sabnock's annoyance, who sparks a fight with Azu by dumping a bucket of water on the Burning Flower. Meanwhile, Clara's pot flower ends up being a mutated monstrosity that starts trying to sing.
\\\
Looking at his potted seed, Iruma apologizes to it knowing that he can't make it grow. He pictures his flower being a warm color and fluffy, jokingly sticks out his hand as if he's casting a spell, and says "Kuan Kuan." To Iruma's shock, his Ring of Gluttony reacts, which results in magic being cast upon the seedling. Iruma suddenly gets a phone call from Sullivan, who warns his grandson that the magic spell he cast to calm the ring down ended up charging it up. He informs Iruma that this allows his grandson to use magic through the use of the Ring of Gluttony, but also warns Iruma that there's still a danger as the boy hasn't learned how to regulate the ring's magic output yet. Iruma and company watch in confusion and shock as his seedling grows to the point of breaking out through the Greenhouse's roof. Sullivan and Opera watch from afar as they see a giant fully grown Sakura Tree shooting out above the school's Greenhouse.
\\\
At a different location, the real Student Council President, who's actually an upper-class female, is informed by a subordinate about the pink and fluffy tree that the first-year scholarship student created. Looking upon the Sakura Tree, the president realizes that such a tree has never existed before in the demon world. The president is also shown keeping a notebook detailing all the noteworthy events that Iruma's pulled so far, which she decides that the boy is too suspicious to not investigate.
\\\
Shortly after, the members of the Student Council are seen doing their work patrolling the school's halls. Since Babirus Demon School consists of 666 demon students through 6 grades, a council of elite demons known for their cold-bloodedness and integrity is required to keep order in a school of coexisting demons. The council's president, named Azazel Ameri, stands at the top, and disciplines any demon student that is seen causing trouble, such as kicking a demon through a wall for trying to break a window. Their current objective is to search for the honor student known as Iruma, but Ameri is informed that they've been unable to locate him for the time being. One member questions if humans really do exist given the appearance of the Sakura Tree, which Ameri thinks to herself is indeed the case. Demons and humans have actually had relations since ancient times where demons would sate human desires by forming contracts. However, only a small portion of high-ranking demons actually know about the existence of humans. With all the evidence she's gathered so far, Ameri deduces that Iruma must be a human.
\\\
Ameri returns to the Student Council room knowing she has evidence that humans really exist. She deactivates a spell seal on the room's bookshelf, which the shelves opens up only to reveal another bookshelf behind it. The hidden bookshelf consists of research material that's said to be treasured items that were handed down for generations in the Azazel family; Forbidden Books that supposedly chronicle the events of the human world. Ameri opens up one of the books, and focuses hard on its contents, which turns out to be a manga series about a 16-year-old girl's, Hoshino Rin's, fateful encounter with a boy that she falls for running late for school. Ameri ends up displaying a more shameful and girly side to her as she's clearly interested in the contents of the manga. She's able to somewhat tell that what's going on is a school love story, but is unable to know what they're saying since demons don't know about Japanese writing. She's left wondering if the girl falling for the boy from simply bumping into one another is some sort of charm ability that humans have. She tries to deny that she's interested, but continues to sneak peaks back at the Forbidden Book with her heart pounding.
\\\
Once the day is over, Iruma is seen having stayed after school. Due to feeling bad about the trouble he caused by suddenly creating the Sakura Tree, he takes a request from Suzy to help clean up afterwards. Ameri is also seen having stayed after school as she got too caught up trying to read the Forbidden Book. The two of them are caught not paying attention as they accidentally bump into one another walking down opposite hallways. Seeing Ameri on the floor, Iruma gets up asking if the girl he bumped into is ok, which causes Ameri to emotionally react due to the scene being reminiscent of the girl and boy meeting in the Forbidden Book. She asks for his name, and to her shock, he answers as Iruma; the boy the council's been searching for. Believing that Iruma is trying to use his "human charm ability" to make her fall in love with him, Ameri is now 100% convinced that the boy is human, and proceeds to grab hold him to keep a now scared Iruma from escaping.
\\\
As she keeps hold of Iruma, a confused Ameri tries to get a handle of the situation. As the Student Council President, she has to pick out the weeds that disturbs the school's order, and burn them without mercy. She thinks to herself that there will be a huge fuss if it gets out that a human is in the demon world, and figures that the best scenario is to contact her father. The boy would then be restrained and transported to a more appropriate institution. Meanwhile, Iruma tries to apologize believing that bumping into her made the girl angry, but Ameri continues to not let him go to try not to get caught up any further by his "human charm ability." With no other option left, Iruma lowers his head to bow before her as an apology, which since Ameri is holding him, her body ends up following his actions much to her continued confusion. Due to Ameri bowing her body, it turns out that she accidentally took the Forbidden Book with her, and it ends up dropping off her clothing to the floor. Iruma picks the book up, and realizes it's a volume of "First Love Memories," a story he used to read every week, and even worked on as an assistant at one point to help develop the manga.
\\\
Reading the book, Iruma notices that it's on the part where Rin confesses to the boy she likes under the Sakura Tree, which catches Ameri's attention. She asks if this means that Iruma can read what's happening in the book. Iruma answers that he does, but quickly realizes his screw-up that he knows about an object that shouldn't be in the demon world. However, Ameri doesn't care as she begins sparkling with excitement. She points to words in the book for Iruma to read, which he does so by reading the part where the boy Rin likes, Aozora Kakeru, is seen transferring into her class. Ameri then grabs hold of Iruma again, and begins dragging him off to another location. Shortly after, a confused Iruma is now in the Student Council lounge standing with the first volume of "First Love Memories." In front of him is Ameri sitting in a chair, which she embarrassingly asks Iruma to begin reading.
\\\
Iruma thinks over the situation realizing that demons can't read human language, and that the only reason he hasn't had to deal with the reverse in the demon world was thanks to Sullivan casting a demon translation magic upon him. Ameri on the other hand tries to deny that she's actually interested in the book, and is just confirming if Iruma truly is a human. Iruma then goes along with Ameri's request, and begins to read the start of the story where Rin is late for school, which excites Ameri knowing that she can finally get invested in the story knowing what the characters are saying. Iruma eventually reaches a point where Rin asks Kakeru if they're on a date, which leaves Ameri confused as to what a "date" is. In return, Iruma explains that it's when a boy and a girl go out somewhere because they like each other. It also reaches a point where an antagonistic rival character appears and begins treating Rin poorly, which angers Ameri to the point of calling the girl a demon. After awhile, Iruma finishes reading through the first volume of "First Love Memories", which shocks him that it's now nighttime, and has been missing calls from a worried Sullivan.
\\\
Seeing that Iruma needs to leave, Ameri grabs his phone, inputs her number, and orders him to arrive immediately when she calls. Iruma then finally asks what her name is, which she answers as Ameri. He then exits the lounge not knowing what just happened, but admits that he had fun, and finally departs the school to go home. Meanwhile, Ameri puts the Forbidden Book back on the hidden shelf, and is confident that Iruma is indeed a human. She figures that appropriate measures should be taken given her role as the Student Council President, but upon looking at the shelves of "First Love Memories" volumes, she decides that it's still too early to make a decision regarding what to do with Iruma until he's finished reading the story.
\\\
At the start of another day, Opera is seeing Iruma off to school. The demon butler catches Iruma off-guard by asking if the boy has any desire to return to the demon world. Iruma tries to answer yes given that he's human, but also remembers how his luxurious life in the demon world has turned out so much better than the hell he had to go through being cast out to live on his own in the human world. In addition, he never befriended anyone in the human world while in the demon world, he is now friends with Azu and Clara. Seeing Iruma's state of confusion, Opera informs the boy that there's a rumor of a way to travel to the human world once a demon has attained a high rank. Opera then tells Iruma to do his best as the boy will need to be prepared if he plans to continue living in the demon world. Iruma then runs off to school before he's forced to go by carriage again.
\\\
In the Abnormal class, Iruma remains depressed thinking about his life. That he's been aimlessly drifting in the demon world, and never once thought about going back to the human world. Iruma then leaves since he needs to be elsewhere, but also informs Azu and Clara that they can't come since he needs to do this alone. Seeing Iruma leave, Sabnock is impressed that Iruma seems to be working on something. However, Azu and Clara aren't as happy. Clara pouts in anger that she hasn't gotten to have fun with Iruma while Azu remains worried that Iruma has been off doing something he doesn't know about. As a result, Sabnock suggests that the two should just follow him, which results in them doing so.
\\\
During a student council meeting, Ameri is disinterested due to wanting to hear Iruma read more of "First Love Memories." She exits the meeting claiming to her subordinates that she's going on a "date." She quickly explains what Iruma told her regarding what a date is, and dashes off to the student lounge. Iruma is seen waiting for her at the lounge entrance as the two greet one another. Around the corner, Azu and Clara are seen spying on their meeting. Clara remains angry that another girl has been mingling with Iruma, but Azu is left impressed taking this as a sign that Iruma is getting his thumb into controlling the student council. Overall, he figures that they need to get a closer look at the meeting.
\\\
Within the lounge, Iruma is back to his position of standing with a volume of "First Love Memories" to read it in front of a sitting Ameri. Now as far as the fifth volume, Ameri remains excited to know what happens next. It reaches a point where Rin talks about her dream to be a wonderful bride, which the word "dream" catches Ameri's attention, and figures that it must be another way of saying "ambition." She takes this as the moment where Rin will start vanquishing her enemies by beating them senseless, but is surprised to find out that doesn't actually happen. This causes Iruma to ask what Ameri's dream for the future is, which Ameri explains that as someone who is proud of being a demon, she feels that others should also be proud of being born as demons. In addition, her aspiration is to improve the quality of the student's lives by making the school a learning establishment known only with admiration. For the future after graduating, she also adds that she desires to help her father's work, and shows a bit of her girly side claiming that she wants to run a bakery or flower shop.
\\\
Embarrassed that she ended up talking about herself, Ameri switches the question to Iruma asking about his ambitions. Iruma answers that continuing to have good times with everyone is possibly enough for him. However, Ameri calls Iruma's answer nothing more than an empty ideal. She states that what she's only interested in is ambition, such as if Iruma has any desires. Something that he wants to seize that it gives him the willpower to strive towards. Ameri asks once more what Iruma's dream is, which leaves him confused. Meanwhile, Clara and Azu can be seen trying to peak through the window at their conversation, which Clara suggests to charge in.
\\\
A stuck Iruma remains unable to answer. He explains to Ameri his problem that up until this point, the people around him have been the ones to decide on what he should do. As a result, he's been unable to think about what he wanted to do for himself. In return, Ameri suggests that the answer to his problem of not having anything is to just make something. Iruma states once more that he's never thought about it, which Ameri suggests that he should start with trying to raise his ranking. She explains that rising in the ranks is a student's duty, so his first goal should be to rise to Rank 2 (Beth). At this point, a pouting Clara suddenly appears in the student lounge. She claims that she's here to take Iruma back, which Azu tries to apologize claiming that it wasn't their goal to interrupt. Ameri decides to end their meeting for today given Clara and Asmodeus' intrusion, but states that she will wait for the day that Iruma and her are standing in the same position if he ever decides to raise his rank.
\\\
Upon returning home, Iruma is left wondering what he should do. He figures that since there are people who have expectations of him, he should at the very least set himself a practice goal for now. Iruma meets with Azu, who is surprised to hear that Iruma came to him to teach the boy how to become Rank 2 (Beth). The result is Azu crying since his original belief was that Iruma wasn't interested in the rankings, and now believes that Iruma is just vexed by his true feelings. Asmodeus happily agrees since there's no way Iruma can accept being just a Rank 1 (Aleph), and that advancing ranks is a part of demon honor. He figures that no one in the Abnormal class actually has the ability to help Iruma, which he claims that he will help and prepare Iruma immediately.
\\\
Iruma and Clara go with Azu to the lower level practice grounds of the school. Azu explains that there's only one way for first years to raise their rank, which is to just do better in special Rank Advancement Classes, one of which is an upcoming special class known as the "Cannonball Execution." Azu explains how the "Cannonball Execution" was a killing tournament that was once participated by demons to duel over past territory disputes. The weapon used as the game ball are known as a Cayman, which is a small ball-like demon that will devour any prey that gets caught in its jaws. Given the casualties using a Cayman, Azu shows that they will just be using a normal ball for practice. Azu then explains the rules of "Cannonball Execution," which leaves Iruma in disbelief when he realizes that it's basically just a game of dodgeball.
\\\
Shortly after, the other students of the Abnormal Class show up to the practice grounds as well having become interested in taking part in "Cannonball Execution." Iruma is left wondering how he's going to dodge the attacks from his demon classmates, which shocks him when he's almost hit by a ball thrown by Sabnock. Excited knowing that it's a killing tournament in order to raise one's rank, Sabnock states that the game's rules were practically made for someone like him. He then aims to hit the nice demon that provided snacks during the air racing event, but said demon shows off his Bloodline ability by cutting the ball in half with an invisible blade made of wind.
\\\
The two halves of the ball end up being shot towards two students, Kerori and the boy that lays on a cloud. The two of them show off their Bloodline abilities where Kerori protects herself by blocking the ball with a pillar of ice while the cloud boy does the same with a pillar of rock. Iruma is shocked at what his classmates can pull off while others are amazed. Knowing that he's be unable to combat his classmates, Iruma worries that there's no way he's going to pass unless he somehow gets special training. Azu suggests that since he's not qualified to teach him, they should consult with other higher ranked demons, which Azu figures there's only one logical answer, Sullivan. Shortly after, Iruma arrives at the chairman's office to meet with Sullivan. In return, a serious Sullivan figures that it's about time to have an in-depth talk with his grandson.

The next day in class, Iruma reveals to Azz that he's come to the decision to rise up in the demon rankings, which excites Azz as he was worried that Iruma was satisfied with staying as just a Rank 1 (Aleph). Asking Azz on how to do it, Azz explains that the way to gain ranks is through special "rank advancement classes" such as the flying race they started with. As a result, Azz reveals that the next upcoming event for a rank-up is the "Cannonball Execution" exam. Azz proceeds to teach Iruma about the exam, which is basically the demon world's version of dodgeball. The Abnormal students all join in to practice for the exam, but Iruma starts to worry when he realizes that you're allowed to use their magic abilities during the exam match. Iruma figures he's going to need special training, which Azz suggests that they already know someone who can help. Sure enough, they seek out Sullivan to help Iruma prepare for the exam.

Iruma continues to unintentionally put himself in the spotlight when it turns out that the Ring of Gluttony he was given allows him to use magic. A magic so powerful but raw that he ends up sprouting a massive Sakura Tree during Suzy Stolas' demon biology glass. Because of his continued spotlight, Iruma winds up getting the attention of Ameri Azazel, the demon school's Student Council President. The peculiar events surrounding Iruma have led her to believe that Iruma is a human, and should be dealt with accordingly.

Upon meeting Iruma however, Ameri ends up befriending him instead due to his ability to read the Japanese writing of "First Love Memories;" a human manga series that she's highly interested in, and keeps hidden in the council room. As a result, Iruma starts to spend some time together with Ameri after school to serve as a translator that reads "First Love Memories" to her. He also gets to see a much more girlier side of Ameri during their time together compared to the determined and serious persona that she shows off during school hours.

Iruma eventually comes to realize that he hasn't set a goal for himself for the future, which Ameri suggests that he should start by rising up in the demon rankings. He agrees to this suggestion, and an opportunity for Iruma comes up to rise to Rank 2 (Beth) in the upcoming "Cannonball Execution" ranking exam. Iruma then seeks out Sullivan to ask for help to prepare for it.

Because of his continued spotlight, Iruma winds up getting the attention of Ameri Azazel, the demon school's Student Council President. The peculiar events surrounding Iruma have led her to believe that Iruma is a human, and should be dealt with accordingly.accordingly.

!!!Chapter 10: Ameri's Theory
Ameri and her student council subordinates go about their job patrolling the school hallways keeping students in check from doing anything questionable. Her subordinates discuss if humans really exist given the appearance of the Sakura Tree that supposedly only exists in the human world fairy tales. However, Ameri thinks to herself that she knows for a fact that humans exist. That she believes based on all the oddities surrounding him that Iruma is definitely a human.

Upon meeting Returning on her own to the student council room, Ameri releases a spell on a bookshelf that leads to a secret room of many hidden books that only she knows about. These hidden books are said to be treasured items that have been passed down within the Azazel family, and are the proof that the human world exists. She then proceeds to open one of the books, but the content within it turns out to be that of a romance-comedy manga series called "First Love Memories." The pages she's viewing of the novel being the moment where the male main character first bumps into the female main character, and begin their romance. Oddly enough, despite coming off as completely serious up to this point, and despite not being unable to understand what the characters are saying, Ameri's interest in the book's seemingly romantic contents shows off a more girly side to her.

Meanwhile,
Iruma however, Ameri stays after school to help Suzy clean up. He ends up befriending him instead due to his ability to read bumping into Ameri in the Japanese writing hallway, which catches Ameri off-guard as the moment re-enacts the bumping moment between the main characters of "First Love Memories;" a human manga series that she's highly interested in, and keeps hidden in the council room. As a result, Iruma starts to spend some time together with Memories." Ameri after school to serve asks who the boy is, which he properly introduces himself as a translator that reads Iruma. Overall, Ameri misunderstands the content of "First Love Memories" as a human ability to make people fall for them. She then grabs hold of Iruma convinced by all the oddities, and the bumping event, that Iruma truly is a human.

!!!Chapter 11: First Love Memory
At first, Ameri feels the need to follow through with her role as the Student Council President to weed out the things that disturb the school, such as contacting her father to deal with Iruma. Realizing he's in a dangerous situation being held by Ameri, Iruma tries to apologize for whatever he did wrong by bowing down, but to both their confusion, Ameri is pulled down with him into a bowing position as well not understanding what Iruma, a human, is trying to do
to her. He also gets to see a much more girlier side A volume of Ameri during their time together compared "First Love Memories" then falls off her body to the determined floor, which Ameri realizes she made a big mistake by taking the book with her.

Iruma picks up the volume,
and serious persona surprises Ameri when he shows that he knows about "First Love Memories" having worked on it as a weekly assistant. Iruma then talks about the moment where the main characters, Rin and Kakeru, confess under the Sakura Tree, which Ameri realizes that Iruma can read the book. Iruma realizes he screwed up given away a skill from the human world, but Ameri is left sparkling with interest knowing that she shows off during school hours.

will finally be able to understand what is happening in "First Love Memories." She gets Iruma eventually comes to realize say a few of the lines in the book to further confirm that he hasn't set can read it, and then proceeds to drag him back to the student council lounge.

Within the lounge, Ameri takes
a goal for himself seat in her chair with Iruma now standing before her holding Volume 1 of "First Love Memories." She then asks him to read it to her, which Iruma proceeds to do starting with Rin's introduction in the story. Thus, Ameri remains excited now being able to properly follow the story, such as learning about dates between boys and girls along with the introduction of the story's love rival. Iruma continues to read until the end of the volume, but is shocked to see that he read until it became dark out. Before leaving to head home, Ameri introduces herself, and provides Iruma her contact number. Once Iruma has left, Ameri decides that it's still too early to decide what to do with Iruma. Mainly because she wants him to finish reading "First Love Memories" first.

!!!Chapter 12: Iruma's "Dream"
At the start of a new day before heading off to school, Iruma's house butler, Opera, asks the boy if he wants to return to the human world. However, Iruma remains confused not knowing how to answer given that his life in the human world sucked, and that his life in the dangerous demon world has gone well so far. However, Opera assures him that if Iruma obtains a high demon rank, he will be able to go between the two world by his own power.

Meanwhile at school, Azz and Clara find it odd that Iruma's been going off on his own a lot. Sabro suggests
for the future, two of them to follow him, which they decide to do so. Iruma arrives at the student council lounge to meet up with Ameri for their next reading session. Azz and Clara are seen watching them from afar, which excites Azz believing that Iruma is working to get the Student Council president under his thumb while Clara is just annoyed that someone is stealing Iruma from her.

The reading session then begins with Iruma continuing where they left off in Volume 5 of "First Love Memories." It reaches a point with Rin talking about her dream to become a bride, which not knowing what "dream" means, Ameri believes must be another way of saying "ambition." Iruma then asks what Ameri's dream is. She answers in return that as a person who's proud of being a demon, her goal is to make the school a learning establishment of admiration where any student can improve their life to one day also feel that they're proud of being a demon. She's also fine with helping with her father's work, or running more girly jobs like a bakery or flower shop. She then asks if Iruma's the ambitious type, which he only answers that he's just fine with having good times with everyone. However, Ameri tells him that that's just an empty ideal. She explains that what she wants to know if Iruma has the desire to seize anything he wants, and asks once more what his dream is, but Iruma is unable to answer.

!!!Chapter 13: Iruma's Determination
Struggling to provide Ameri an answer, Iruma explains that up to this point, he's just been following along with what people tell him to do to the point that he never thought about what he, himself, wanted. In return,
Ameri suggests that he should start by with rising up in the demon rankings. He agrees rankings as it's still a student's duty to this suggestion, work towards getting better ranks. Eventually, Azz and an opportunity for Clara have had enough, and burst into the lounge to take Iruma comes up back, but not before Ameri tells him that she will be waiting for him to stand at the same high position as her. That night, Iruma thinks it over, and decides that, at the very least, it would be good for him to start with a practice goal.

The next day in class, Iruma reveals to Azz that he's come to the decision
to rise to Rank 2 (Beth) up in the demon rankings, which excites Azz as he was worried that Iruma was satisfied with stating as just a Rank 1 (Aleph). Asking Azz on how to do it, Azz explains that the way to gain ranks is through special "rank advancement classes" such as the flying race they started with. As a result, Azz reveals that the next upcoming event for a rank-up is the "Cannonball Execution" ranking exam.
