Ai observes her next client, an abused girl at a circus, a vision of which wakes Tsugumi up. Ai hands the girl Wanyuudo's straw doll, warning her about the price of vengeance with a vision of fire. Tsugumi tells Hajime that she saw a poster for a travelling circus, so Hajime finds a matching poster and the two set off to find the client. Tsugumi is excited to see a show when they arrive and Hajime is surprised that travelling circuses still exist. Hone Onna and Ichimoke Ren, who are disguised as circus staff, notice Hajime and wonder if he'll ever give up. As he and Tsugumi watch the show, Hajime wonders who accessed the Hell Correspondence. The final act is a sword box trick in which a girl is stuck in a box with swords placed into the sides, then disappears. The girl reappears behind the audience and Hajime recognizes her as Ai's client. That evening, Hajime tells the ringmaster that he's planning to write an article on the circus. Ren shows Hajime around the circus, which is quite a bit more dysfunctional that it first appears. Tsugumi has another vision of cherry blossoms, but is snapped out of it by Hone Onna, who wonders what Tsugumi is doing alone. Tsugumi says she's waiting for Hajime and wonders what Hone Onna does, calling her an old lady, which Hone Onna takes offense at. Tsugumi eggs Hone Onna into showing her some tricks. Ren brings Hajime back to his car and Hajime asks to interview the girl from before and Ren agrees to avoid suspicion. One of the performers, who is drunk, approaches Hajime and Ren chases her away. Hajime tries to talk the girl out of accepting Ai's offer, but the girl has no idea what he's talking about and gets Moku to escort him out.

Ren watches Hajime and Tsugumi drive away and finds Hone Onna stuck in a box. The ringmaster goes into a storage shed near the circus and whips the girl from Tsugumi's vision for tripping during the show. While Hajime and Tsugumi are eating at a nearby restaurant, Tsugumi has another vision, this time of the girl, Yumi, being whipped. This leads Hajime to realize that disappearing act was performed by twins and to suspect that she wants to banish the ringmaster to Hell. Hajime and Tsugumi find Yumi in the storage shed. Hajime notices that she has already untied the thread and runs off to find the ringmaster. The other girl, Yuki, is showing the ringmaster her outfit for the next performance when Hajime barges in and tries to get the ringmaster out of harm's way. At the storage shed, Ai comforts Yumi as Tsugumi looks on in terror. Yumi recalls all the times her sister sabotaged her. Hajime tries to drag the ringmaster away, but Yuki is the one Yumi decided to banish. Yuki is pulled through the mirror and Hajime isn't fast enough to save her.

Yuki awakens on an empty grey plain, wondering where she is. A box used for sword tricks appears with a skeleton inside. The skeleton is impaled by several swords and the box disappears. Wanyuudo, who is in his wheel form, says that Yuki has joined the Circus of Hell and Ichimoku Ren, appearing as an eye, says that Yuki is their newest star. Skeletal arms sprout from the ground and begin to crawl toward Yuki as Hone Onna tells her to ride a unicycle, which Yuki says she can't do. Wanyuudo feigns shock at her lack of skill and Hone Onna says they have no choice. The ground crumbles and Yuki falls onto a tiled floor. She is attacked by sword-wielding skeletons. As one skeleton is about to chop her head off, Yuki instead finds herself falling off a tightrope over a pit of lava. She barely manages to grab the tightrope with one hand when Ren's eye appears and he wonders how long Yuki can hold on. Yuki begs Ai's minions to save her, but Wanyuudo tells her to repent for what she did to her sister. Yuki says she knows who the minions are and the minions continue to tell her to repent. Yuki refuses to apologize, saying that there's nothing wrong with wanting to take a bow for herself. Ai appears to banish Yuki to Hell and Yuki falls from the tightrope. On the boat to Hell, Yuki tries to make Ai turn around, but blades spring up around her. Yuki begs to be sent back as Ai ferries her to Hell.

The next day, Hajime and Tsugumi get ready to leave while the drunk woman from before looks for "Moku." Yumi walks up to the ringmaster in one of Yuki's dresses and the ringmaster says that it looks wonderful. Tsugumi notices that Yumi is happy as the performers drive off. A candle with Yumi's name is lit.
