* FictionalPainting:
** Mr. Lopart is seen trying to paint a portrait of Fluffy.
** As can be expected, the art show is loaded with these, including one of Tanya at her ice cream stand (with a comically tall stack of ice cream scoops), one of a dinosaur dancing, one of some fruit set out on a table, and quite a few that appear to be self-portraits. The animators evidently took great care to ensure that these paintings [[StylisticSuck really look like they were made by elementary-schoolers]].
* KidsLoveDinosaurs: Implied, as one of the paintings at the elementary school's art show depicts a dinosaur dancing to music from a boombox.

Spelling/grammar fix(es)

* KnewItAllAlong: After Turner points out that there was no photo in the picture frame Manny has just fixed, Pat (who had just commented on the "photo" being completely black) [[BlatantLies claimed]] to have known there wasn't a photo all along.

'''Art Show'''

Manny is called by Carmela to help her hang pictures for the local elementary school's art show. Judging that this job requires a level, he sets off to Kelly's to pick one up- and, much to his surprise, meets Beamer the laser level. Beamer's speed and precision (not to mention his lasers) quickly impress the other tools- except for Stretch, who worries that Beamer's precision and accuracy will allow him to take over the tape measure's job.

!!"Art Show" provides examples of:
* AnimalReactionShot: Mixed with a bit of CatsAreSnarkers.
-->'''Mr. Lopart''': There's nothing she [Fluffy] enjoys more than getting her picture painted. Right, Fluffy?\\
'''Fluffy''': //rolls her eyes//
* ArtisticLicensePhysics: The beam of Beamer's laser is visible at all times, even though (as anyone who's ever played with a laser pointer can tell you) under normal circumstances lasers should only be visible as a red dot on whatever they're pointed at; the beam only becomes visible when passed through something like smoke or fog.
* ArtsyBeret: Mr. Lopart wears one while trying to paint a picture of Fluffy.
* BecomingPartOfTheImage: When Mr. Lopart's portrait of his cat falls on him, his head ends up going through the exact spot of the canvas where Fluffy's head was.
* EverybodyLaughsEnding: Triggered by a hungry Felipe asking if the art show has food, and Pat "helpfully" pointing him to a painting of some fruit.
* InstantlyProvenWrong: Mr. Lopart's claim that Fluffy enjoys getting her picture painted is instantly disproven via AnimalReactionShot.
* NeatFreak: Beamer is a variation- he doesn't care about things being organized or clean, but he cares ''very much'' about things being straight and level.
* StatusQuoIsGod: Rather than joining Manny's team, Beamer decides to become Carmela's tool, and the two of them are promptly [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome never seen again]].

'''The New Time Capsule'''

The town of Sheet Rock Hills is building a time capsule, but Manny and the tools don't know what they should add. In search of ideas, they set out on a walk around town to see what some of their friends will be contributing, but after helping several people with their submissions they still end up stumped. Then Mayor Rosa and the citizens discover that the box they were planning to use has a big (or rather, small) problem with it- but this just might be an opportunity for Manny and the tools to make their contribution.

!! "The New Time Capsule" contains the following tropes:
* CallBack: The town of Sheet Rock Hills [[Recap/HandyMannyS2E24 makes a time capsule once every 100 years.]]
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Pat produces a few instances.
** When the tools are searching for a specific pair of shoes in Sherman's shoe store, and Pat insists in looking in a rather improbable place:
--->'''Turner''': Now how would a pair of sneakers get under there?
--->'''Pat''': I dunno. Walk?
** Later, when Manny and the tools are told they only have five minutes left before they need to go to the park for the time capsule ceremony:
--->'''Pat''': Oh, five minutes! I thought time was running out!
* ContinuityCavalcade: A good portion of the inhabitants of Sheet Rock Hills are seen at the time capsule ceremony, with items related to previous episodes they'd featured in.
* KnewItAllAlong: After Turner points out that there was no photo in the picture frame Manny has just fixed, Pat (who had just commented on the "photo" being completely black) [[BlatantLies claimed]] to have known there wasn't a photo all along.
* {{Irony}}: Sherman was unable to find the pair of sneakers he was planning to put in the time capsule... because he put them on the table beside his store's door so he'd remember them on the way out.
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: Bizarrely, the image Manny paints on the time capsule lid manages to mess up how these are applied to his [[TwoGirlsToATeam two female tools]]- Dusty (who doesn't have eyelashes) is depicted with them, while Squeeze (who does) is drawn without them.
* TimeCapsule: The inhabitants of Sheet Rock Hills are building one, set to be opened 100 years in the future, with the two main problems of the episode being that a. Manny and the tools can't think of what they should add to it, and b. The box for the time capsule is too small to hold everyone's items. Fortunately, Manny figures out that he can solve both problems at once by building a bigger box (and painting a picture of himself and his tools on the underside of the lid).
