In 2042, Earth gets [[AlienInvasion invaded by an alien force]] called the "Mimetic Beasts". They carry the [[TheVirus Insania Virus]], which usually targets males and mutates them into monstrosities. In the FinalBattle against the HiveQueen, pilots Goh Saruwatari and Mira Ackerman lead the attack. Eventually, Mira is killed in a HeroicSacrifice and Goh rescues a young girl, Anna Aoi.
Five years later, in 2047, Goh and Anna are about to get married when the Mimetic Beasts invade Earth again. While Goh returns to pilot the Dannar, Anna inadvertently activates the sealed-off Neo Okusaer and decides to help Goh fight against the Mimetic Beasts.
