He is not satisfied with Jessica's reason for choosing his American name (the nurse who helped deliver him had the last name "Evans"), nor do Jessica's or Louis' stories about how they chose their own American names help. In the end, Grandma Huang convinces Evan that the name he was given is not important; it is what you do in life to make that name important that matters.
