* AnAesop: People often have a reason for going through with unpopular decisions. Herriman's way of being house manager may make him unpopular but ''it keeps things running''. Being manager often calls for making tough decisions, and some times you have to be hard on people because otherwise ''nothing'' would get done.

* LiteralMetaphor: When Bloo shouts "Herriman smells like poo!" during the interview and the imaginary friends cheer, Herriman says "But he's just mudslinging!" Bloo then tosses mud at Herriman's face, to which Herriman says "I should have seen that coming."

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Mr. Herriman has trouble working as a grocery store cashier after losing his job as house president. Many administrators often find themselves struggling with ground level or menial jobs. Of course, Fridge Logic comes in given that he looked for every job BUT an administrator, which he was quite skilled at.
** Frankie may have won the popular vote, but that ''doesn't'' mean she's fit for the role, especially since she's never held a manager position before. Within the day, she quickly finds herself overwhelmed and stressed out from trying to get things done, and eventually gives the position back to Herriman because of it.

* LimitedWardrobe: [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]]; When Frankie runs against Mr. Herriman for president of the house, Herriman eventually resorts to a smear campaign in his efforts to win. One of the resulting ads counters Frankie's promises of "change" by pointing out that she wears the same green jacket every day.

!!This episode provides examples of:
* ContinuityCavalcade: When Mac interviews Bloo as a candidate for the President of Foster's in the election against Frankie and Mr. Herriman, he reminds Bloo of all the bad things he did in the past since he's came to Foster's, such as:

* ElectionDayEpisode: Frankie challenges Mr. Herriman for the position of house manager, and they hold an election. Bloo briefly posts himself as a candidate (mostly for the attention), and after coming last on the polls, becomes Herriman's campaign manager.
* GracefulLoser: Mr. Herriman is not above admitting when he has been defeated by his competition fair-and-square or admitting when he's wrong. When Frankie beats him by a landslide for the position of Foster's Home President, not only was he willing to admit defeat, Herriman didn't even kick up a fuss about being beaten. In fact, since he lost his position to Frankie, he chooses to leave Foster's altogether, despite Frankie saying that he doesn't have to leave Foster's. Thankfully, this sad predicament doesn't last too long as Frankie realizes that being house president isn't all that it's cracked up to be and gives Herriman back his position.
* NeatFreak: Mr. Herriman showcases this at the beginning of the episode by having the whole house ''alphabetize trash''.
