* ShoutOut: Not only is the title a reference to ''Film/MissionImpossible'', but at one point, Double D manages to escape Ed and Eddy by floating away on his umbrella (a la ''Film/MaryPoppins'')--and Eddy questions how he could've been able to do so.

* SmarterThanYouLook: Despite her obvious ditziness, Nazz actually did pretty well in her classes--way better than Kevin (see DumbJock above)--her lowest grade was a D in cooking.

* ComicallyMissingThePoint: One of Ed and Eddy's attempts to stop Double D is to dig a giant hole in the ground. When Double D arrives the two of them are in the hole waiting with Ed still digging, but Double D stops before falling in. Eddy, while still in the whole demands Double D hand over their report cards, and Double D proceeds to simply ''walk around the hole''. Eddy is shocked by this and blames Ed, saying he should have dug deeper.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: Ed and Eddy try to stop Double D with a giant hole they dug, and Eddy assumes they finally have him cornered. The unimpressed Double D just simply ''walks around the hole'', leaving Eddy to angrily blame Ed for not digging deeper.

* FiveSecondForeshadowing: When Ed and Eddy finally catch Edd and start digging around in his pack, Edd sports a knowing smile, because he entrusted the report cards to Rolf just before leaving the school.

* SoreLoser: When Eddy finds out too late that Rolf was delivering the reporting cards and Edd tricked him and Ed into chasing him, Eddy angrily attempts to throttle Edd to avenge his humiliating loss. Too bad for him that his angry father arrives to talk to him about his grades.

* WildGooseChase: A variation; Ed and Eddy spend the entirety of episode chasing after Edd to get their report cards from him and change them. When they finally do catch him however, it turns out that Edd never had the report cards on his person ever since he left the school building. He entrusted them to Rolf to deliver in his place while he distracted Ed and Eddy with the chase, buying Rolf enough time to complete the task.

Complaining.

* AdultsAreUseless: While Ed did get a poor report card this is actually the fault of both his parents and the teachers. Ed unlike Eddy isn’t really failing classes because of laziness. He is failing because it is strongly implied Ed is mentally handicapped as he has a hard time paying attention in school and to be blamed for that isn’t his fault. What should be happening is for his parents to have a meeting with the teacher to decide what is best for Ed such as sending him to a special needs school or getting support in class. In fact the teachers giving Ed bad grades is technically discrimination and therefore illegal.
