* AesopAmnesia: When the Master tells the Doctor that the Time Lords fabricated the story of how they discovered regeneration, she reacts with surprise and outrage, asking why they would lie about something like that. It is worth noting that by this point, the Doctor have intimate first-hand knowledge of several dirty Time Lord secrets and have at several points several been cajoled and even forcibly recruited into helping their StateSec with their DirtyBusiness, and have noitced and even commented on their capicty and willingness for inventing coverstories and straight up propaganda to protect themselves from questions and embrassments. It seems rather strange that is hard for her to accept that that Time Lord leadership would lie something like that too.

* {{Retcon}}: This episode includes a retcon ''[[UpToEleven of a retcon]]''. Back in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS13E5TheBrainOfMorbius "The Brain of Morbius"]], there was a sequence of faces shown in a mental battle between the Doctor and Morbius implied (but not outright stated) to be incarnations of the Doctor before Hartnell. Following the establishment of the 12 regeneration limit, this was changed so that they now represented past incarnations of Morbius. Here, these same faces are shown in a montage regarding the Timeless Child, reversing the previous retcon and confirming who these faces actually belonged to.

* NothingIsTheSameAnymore: It turns out that the Doctor is, and always has been, the Timeless Child, meaning that all of the Time Lords that ever were are technically created from her. That's because she is ''also'' an immortal being from another universe — possibly the only one of her kind — with a countless number of previous lives whom she's been mind-wiped of, rather than being a simple Time Lord who defected from her people. Gallifrey is now a completely lifeless world as well, and since no one has any idea where she originally came from, she has no "home" at all (unless one counts Earth or maybe the TARDIS) and no peers aside from the Master — at least for the time being.

You can't put What Happened to the Mouse on something that happens at the tail end of an episode when the next episode (which may or may not resolve these plot points) hasn't even aired yet. If the extra TARDI Ses are forgotten about in the next episode, then it might be appropriate. At the moment this is more of a cliffhanger.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Apparently there are now ''two'' [=TARDISes=] abandoned out there in the universe, not counting the Doctor's own. One is on Earth posing as a suburban house that wasn't there yesterday — something one would expect might cause comment, perception filter or none — and the other is being a ''tree'' in the ruined future where the Doctor last parked her TARDIS. The episode ends before we find out what's to be done about them, though Thirteen does comment that there are worse places to spend eternity when leaving the tree, implying her plan is to do what Nine told Rose to do with his TARDIS back in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS27E13ThePartingOfTheWays "The Parting of the Ways"]] and to just leave those [=TARDISes=] for the rest of time, unnoticed and abandoned.

This was presumably done in order to put only Mandip Gill in a Cyber-suit (an arguably lengthy and uncomfortable process), while the other three still fully-suited humans could be played by creature performers (and a separately recorded line of audio by Bradley Walsh).
